That didn't occur to me; Australian owls are not exactly spooky. Well, google "tawny frogmouth." There's one in my favourite ironbark forest, somewhere beyond the grasstree ring and the carnivorous plant meadow. It keeps going "hoom, hoom, hoom" at the very edge of hearing, then stops once I've wandered off the path looking for it. Probably trying to lure me to my doom or something
