Wheel dollies or I don't know maybe dump some air in the tire, unless there is a literal hole in the sidewall it would last long enough to move the car 30ft.

Integrated air compressors as standard equipment would be awesome. Viair has a kit for Jeeps that fits my Dodge and I am sorely tempted.

You know what's not awesome? Picking up a twin axle trailer for a job to find it sitting on half deflated bias-plies and hoping the jumpbox compressor has enough juice to air up at least two tires before you get to the gas station. Then hoping the gas station compressor isn't inop and that someone hasn't sliced the chuck off it.

Opening up the hood and attaching a nice, long airline with locking chuck would wrap back around to awesome.

Our wheel dollies are pretty beat up and sketchy. Also we would have had to put it on all 4 wheels and push it. And our parking lot is pretty loving beat up. If they slip out there was risk of damage. Tire was off the bead so couldn't air it. watching it roll off the tow truck and saw There was enough side wall and it was thick enough that the rims never touched the ground. Not to mention it went flat while the car was being driven and I'm pretty sure they didn't pull over right away. Either way rims seam to be ok.

Looks like a fun toy until you realize they're anywhere between $20-35k. Hell of a toy.

I guess they restarted production of the Moke in 2018, but all new tooling? Around a very similar but not identical design.

I recognize them the most from "The Prisoner" a british tv show from the 1960s. Apparently the new ones are made in France somewhere

$25k gets you 10 RV batteries in a 2300lb golf kart. They couldn't even be bothered to splurge for a handful of laptop batteries.

For $25k just buy a Nissan Leaf and cut the doors off.

One of mental mates has an original Moke he converted to EV with dual P100D motors.

Probably the only vehicle I've steered that's more dangerous with the traction control on. With it off it just sits and smokes the tyres. With it on it just accelerates at a rate that the brain has trouble keeping up with. in whatever direction the wheels are pointing. Too bad if that was a tree.

The WRC clip a couple of clips later (I changed your timestamp) is also insane due to the suicidal fans. They are way too trusting that the car is going to land that jump.

Why is a toilet paper roll holder put in place of a door handle?

Hadlock
Nov 9, 2004

It's pretty much an exact copy of 70s/80s rwd Cadillacs. The toilet paper holder was on a swing mechanism though

Those rear view mirrors look like 70s Cadillac as well, as do the lower door lights and rear view mirror controls

A very lovely gentleman I met earlier this year is driving VW's super efficient XL1 across the US attempting to keep the now old and probably not working too well hybrid system in the car above 150mpg and raising some cash for charity in the process. I asked him about the car when I met him and he says he loving hates the thing. So this should be fun for him. :v:

I had a '73 Fury III with a 400 in it and I'm real fuckin glad it's not my daily anymore with gas prices being what they are. I can barely afford my almost 40mpg car. That motherfucker was definitely a boat.

It's living a glorious, restored life in Finland now though so peace be with you dude who lives in the town with the same last name as me. (That was a really loving weird experience selling that car.)

So a friend passed away at only 37 from a particularly vicious cancer. I went to the funeral, and as he was a massive rotary guy, his club mates put on a big turnout for him, loaded up his casket in the back of a rotary swapped Mazda Bongo van and took him for a final cruise. I have never seen so many rotaries where every single one of them started first pop like a brand new car. I'm also pretty sure my ears are still ringing from the 2-steps. RIP Bezza.
