linux people will be like "ugh windows gets so bloated after six months, not like my glorious free software operating system" and then have twelve different immutable operating system images with multiple different versions of each shared library needed in each through nixos and have snapd and containerd eating a gig of memory each because they wanted to try to put a DNS resolver in docker and couldn't get it to work

every time i use a linux i install the most loving base debian system i can and start installing only the things i need, and it is at the exact moment that i come against my first breaking dependency conflict that i re-assess if i want to do this on that machine, or if i want to either run the new unicorn horseshit im trying to install in a container/vm or just blow the whole thing away. all my linusboxes are super clean and dont do one single thing i dont want them to
