Junkyard Digs

By the time I got back, he'd gone insane.
Plus, he'd left the gate open and there was evil everywhere.

The Junkyard Digs Grand Prix Grand Prix was pretty funny. The racing could have been edited down a bit but the prep on the cars and "commentator" scenes were good. Not Rod Shop I enjoy as it is just two guys putting junk together and are honest about all the issues they have and how long poo poo takes https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqlOR6G17AGt0aLbt04wXWA

I will never not like super-deformed stuff. I have several first-gen RX-7s in the style, one of which I think is an actual Choro-Q, IIRC. One is like 1/32 scale-ish.

1) As a former 12V installer, I'm incensed that a 12V installer left the vehicle in that state.
2) I have never seen those style fuses before. All my old junk has the ATC or ATM mini fuses or larger. Hell, my Cutlass and RX-7 have AGC glass fuses... Apparently these are "ATM-LP", so the ATM add a fuse should have worked? I think the add-a-circuit was just borked.

If you ever had Transformers as a kid in the 80s and wondered why the smaller Autobots were so stubby, it's because the car modes of the little guys were originally meant to look like Choro-q toys, not the actual cars like the bigger ones.

It's most obvious with Bumblebee and various named or unnamed others with a similar transformation:

The little panel on the back of his head even looks like the ones on the back of Choro-q in his car mode, where you slot the penny in to make them pop wheelies.

The red one is Cliffjumper, and yeah, yeah - trap sprung.

Yup, and there was a third guy who turned into a Mazda Familia/323 who sometimes just got packed into Cliffjumper's cards instead, I was being vague to try to not get any deeper into the minutiae of 1980s children's toys than I had already committed to

That's why it's my favorite, beside the whole "I like RX-7s" thing. It was also a send-in-proof-of-purchase promotion.

I think my first "Transformer" was a Go-Bot, but one of the nicer ones. The very accurate Porsche 928, I think. I still have that.
