cjs: Coworker who needed three pings to get a couple SSL certificates generated finally sent them...and got the domain names wrong. Now we're another email and a Slack message into round two with no reply! Best part is that I apparently could have requested authorization to submit SSL certificate requests myself this whole time I've worked here and nobody told me, especially not the overworked coworker who keeps dropping the ball.

a startup i used to work for and own private stock in is getting bought and they sent me a bunch of stuff to sign that I do not understand at all is this a "pay someone to explain it to me" situation? If so, what kind of person should I seek out? I understand this so little that i don't even understand who might be able to understand it. also is this situation generally good news or bad news? afaik IPO is the good news so I would guess that this is middling/bad?

But if the project you don't work for anymore is something you believe in, you can elect to HODL. But yes, from the description of the words you saw on these papers this seems like money.

current job status: trying to do ETL on a 40gb fixed-width file and getting real pissed at all the weird gotchas of pandas and dask current grandfather status: his dementia-riddled brain is ramping up his separation anxiety again and hes calling every loving hour while im trying to work and im tired of it

cjs: had six hours straight of meetings for the second time this week but at least I was wfh today so i could sleep in a lil. i told my husband about problems i was having with my manager and he thinks my manager is having mental health issues, but no one else on my team seems to have any problems with him, so I think i'm just an unreliable narrator and bad at reading situations and making mountains out of molehills
