For purposes of being clear, I’m assuming TV MCU is Daredevil/Jessica Jones/Iron Fist/Luke Cage/Defenders. Anything else like Scarlett Witch or Hawkeye are considered part of film MCU even though those were shows too, correct?

If so, Kingpin was in the Hawkeye show, also tying Daredevil to the film MCU. Daredevil/Matt Murdock is going to be in the new She-Hulk show. The both of them are going to be in the new Echo show that’s a spin-off of Hawkeye.

Those things are at least confirmed but there’s also rumors of a Daredevil show reboot that directly ties to into the main storyline.

It seems like at the very least Daredevil is being pushed up into the film level. But yeah the rest of them probably aren’t unless they’re just small bit parts.

The TV shows like Daredevil and Iron Fist were official MCU tie-ins which were connected to the main storyline as well, they had lots of references to the movie characters and they had storylines about dealing with the changes to New York after the alien attack in the first Avengers movie

I think I differentiate it because before it was a one-way thing. The shows referenced the events of the movies but as far as the movies were concerned the shows didn’t exist.

Agents of SHIELD was different because you had characters that existed and were referenced in both.

Now they’ve acknowledged that at least DD/MM and Kingpin exist in the main MCU storyline and aren’t doing it through some multiverse fuckery.

The guy who played Jarvis in the show made it in with the same role.

(but yeah, I get what you're saying. Nothing that impacted plot-wise)

In doing research about Microwave's Mom I discovered that someone comes up every few years to ask about Microwave's Mom. Fortunately, I got all the info I needed from past times others have asked about it, but if past Microwave's Mom iterations are indicative, I apologize for derailing the next four pages as they will probably have a lot to do with Microwave's Mom.

Edit: though I did come upon this in my research:

Heavy lol that the US is both the only country that has a greater than 1:1 ratio, and has about twice as many as number two.

I mean, just to be clear for anyone to might be reading, most people who own guns in the USA just don't register them. It's not a thing that happens in most states, it's not like a car where you have to down to the office and fill out some paperwork to get it registered.

It'd be like if Japan registered swords and then it turned out there were more registered swords in Japan.

It depends on how they are getting the info.

If they are using the NICS background checks or the ATF forms to get their numbers they are probably pretty legit numbers. To my knowledge you can't purchase a new gun in the states without filling out the form and getting the background check.

Used guns (the "gun show loophole") you don't need the forms for, but that gun was most likely purchased in the past with one of the forms, so still would most likely be in the count.

The only guns that wouldn't be in the count would be homemade ones or super old ones that would count as c&r.

Stuff old enough to predate any sort of tracking of sales is an absolute shitload of guns, though. And on the other end, there's no reporting when a gun is destroyed and taken out of circulation. I don't see how you'd begin to estimate a count even with a lot of asspull assumptions.

Yeah, the gun-to-person ratio can be deceiving in the US. My wife owns one handgun; I own 3 handguns and one rifle. So collectively we’re roughly 2:1. But we live in Texas so we’re probably under the state average.

A friend this morning educated me that when people say they want to "smash that" or "hit that", "that" is not "the woman," but like an abstraction of a woman, or maybe specifically her vagina, abstract or otherwise.

I always felt uncomfortable in the 2000s when I heard people say "I'd hit that," because... I knew they meant sex, but I always just translated it as "'I'd hit that woman, meaning I would have sex with her."
