Good on them, sounds like this season was exceptionally bad. Wonder if one or more of them was just like 'nah gently caress that'.
I don't really love the RLM guys but watched a clip of them talking about Picard where they just seemed sad and embarrassed.

Their podcast on season 1 was really hard to listen to. I’m not sure why they did this, but they convinced themselves that the episodes Michael Chabon wrote were good but the other episodes were garbage. I don’t know why they like the guy. The reality is that every episode of Picard season one was loving garbage.

Also regarding that tweet, they should just be honest and say that they’re not covering Picard season 2 or a potential Boba Fett season 2 because the shows loving suck.

I don't think the WHM boys would play coy about not reviewing a show if they thought it sucks. Why would they throw out excuses about time constraints when they've publicly compared Boba Fett to "writing your suicide note in wingdings"? They'd just say the show sucks and they won't talk about it.

They were also doing ads for Paramount+ about it, so I think they could have been guarded just because of that.

holy poo poo the commentary movie (A Talking Cat?!?) truly is something else. That movie is ROUGH. Like porn level rough of acting, cinematography, editing, audio, lighting, effects, direction, set dressing, makeup... its truly one of the worst things they've watched. I dont even know if you need to watch the movie to get something out of the commentary. It's truly abysmal. Commentary is good, but like you kinda get everything you need out of the movie after about 25 minutes. def have a couple tall glasses of water before hand.

Multiple porn movies(some gay softcore ones by the same director as A Talking Cat!? and some straight hardcore ones by other directors) have been filmed at the same mansion most of the movie takes place in.

Yeah David Decoteau def had like an extra weekend of shooting on a separate project and decided to bang this one out over that weekend to cut costs because it was still dressed like a porn shoot was supposed to be there lol.

I appreciate all of his earlier 80's work like Nightmare Sisters, Sorority Babes at the Slime Ball-O-Rama, Creepozoids, Dreamaniac, but this one was definitely missing all his charm hahah. Even some of his 90's output aint too bad.

I watched it via Rifftrax a few years ago and my favorite part is how it sounds like a doped-up Eric Roberts is calling in via speakerphone to voice the cat.

I'm watching it now after hearing about this movie for years, and yeah, the commentary is the only thing keeping me from turning it off. Holy poo poo, this sucks.

Is A Talking Cat?!? streaming anywhere?

SilentChaz
Oct 5, 2011

Sorry, I'm quite busy at the moment.
PSA: Vinegar Syndrome is currently doing their Halfway to Black Friday sale, which includes the Scanner Cop 4K that has a commentary track from the guys. (The Scanner Cop 1 and 2 set is sold out, though.)

And it looks like A Talking Cat?! is available to rent or buy on Amazon but is not currently streaming anywhere.

No speculation. The word "resigned" vs. "left" or even "let go" feels relevant, but it's not like he's likely intentionally crafting some specific message.

Though yeah in the era of notes app apologies I totally get why some are “oh god please no Ted Danson photo, you know the one”
