Not only were setlist different, they started show differently

Night 1 there was a audio build up intro of David Bowie Subterranean, lots of smoke and then the lights went out and boom Trent preformed Home

Night 2 was the band just out of nowhere walked on stage and ripped into Wish. Lights did not dim, no smoke, music build up intro.

Kinda curious what tomorrow’s going to be like, at Boston Calling. Supposedly we’re going from 9 to 1030.

Awww Trent’s pouring his heart out a little.

Oh man, that legit ruled. I’m really glad I finally got to see NIN live. But uhhh I think I’ll pass on the rest of this festival, my body could barely tolerate today :v:

Maybe again someday!

The previous act on that specific stage was a Dutch hip-hop act called De Jeugd van Tegenwoordig ("Today's Youth"). That's a different vibe.

Holy poo poo, those noises at the beginning of Burn are supposed to be drums? :stare:

Dead thread

I think I’m finally at that age where Hesitation Marks really resonates with me emotionally. Copy of a, Find My Way, Disappointed, Various Methods of Escape, and While I’m Still Here in particular. I only relatively recently got into making music, and I can’t help but empathize with feeling compelled to create but not being happy with it, worrying about getting into it relatively late in life, and wondering what the point of it all is anyway if we’re mortal. :smith: I guess it’s nice to know that my favorite artist has the same worries as I do.

I really hope we get some kind of release compiling all the collabs and features Trent and/or Atticus have been on in the last few years, because there are some really drat good songs they've worked on and I want to be able to hold them in my grubby little hands.

And if you want the minutia why a Doom 3 soundtrack didn't happen, apparently it may have been related to this (warning: legalese):

The wildest take away is the Further Down The Spiral tour had profits of 1.5 million, and Trent didn't earn more than 250,000 until 2001 or so when he got a 1.6 million advance from Interscope.

I know that the music industry is loving brutal but you'd think an objectively successful artist would make more than that.

Edit I guess we are talking long enough ago that it's real American dollars not current day American funbux.

Record contracts are a poo poo deal but it's the only game in town. I have no idea how anyone can afford to be an artist these days unless they're an instant viral success or have a benefactor in the industry.
