I wonder how much better it is with the turbos?

Gotta be better than the 130hp wheeze-fest that was in it from the factory, right?

That engine came in factory twin turbo versions.

The 3 liter bi-turbo version in the Renault Safrane was 258hp although that was 1994. The Renault 25 turbo had a 2.5l single turbo version in the delorean era that tore up the streets with 181hp.

I have no idea how you price a time capsule like that, but that is amazing.

For sale 1985 chev chevtte. Approx 50,000 kms. 4 door 4 cylinder. Fully restored about 10 years ago. Driven for that summer then parked. Custom paint and custom stero system. Asking $5000. Reason for selling it's collecting dust. *update topped up with fresh gas and it is now running and driving*

Believe women.

Apparently they retailed for $5800 in 1985, so good job on keeping its value!

I'd throw away the bullshit audio and its original drivetrain for a i3 ecoboost and die with glory when a 5 ton thousand horse dhumb-e runs my rear end down.

have to wonder what this little guy's story is.

Built in france, LHD, speedometer in miles.

Where does the vehn diagram of "Has Citroens", "uses miles" and "drives on the right" meet?

Some sort of European deciding to drive across the small continent of North America, but yeah, the MPH speedo is a weird one with LHD is a bit of an X-files.

That's actually pretty cool. If it were cheap enough might be fun to get. I wonder how much of a nightmare it would be to get registered assuming it was using Euro plates when on the road here?

Doesn't the UK use some weirdass mix of units for things, one of which is miles for road distances (and I assume MPH for speed)?

Yes, but if it was for the UK I suspect it should be RHD.

Oh, right. I was mixing up "drives on the right" and RHD. Driving on the right-hand side of the road, steering wheel is on the left (LHD). Driving on the left-hand side of the road, steering wheel is on the right (RHD).

I would totally do that with a late model Crown Vic if the dang gas tank wasn't right above the rear axle. The last CV wagon was the square '80s/early '90s ones.

Uk requires imported cars to convert instruments to miles, so this was probably a continental European car that some brit bought, drove in Britain, who then shipped it over here to drive across Canada where it died. I’ve seen a handful of Japanese market cars with mph instruments because they had been imported to the UK before being imported to Canada.

Interesting. I just assumed something like that would be available in the UK without going through the hassle of personally importing form mainland Europe.

Is that a common occurrence?

We use exclusively imperial for road signs. The only place I can think of that has metric is bridge height warnings.

I suspect that's a statement that heavily relies on class rules. Which is my biggest question. What specific class was this built for?
Are there only 5 cars in this class nationwide?

Reliable, but doesn’t run. Also, doesn’t drive. But it runs.

I’d say if it doesn’t drive, it’s not good on gas. Effectively 0 MPG if it’s running and not moving.
