He clearly cut out the part for the stand, but not cutting a circle around the 🍏 logo and instead the making large window. That makes it worse.

That makes it worse. i suspect the big hole is for the stand to poke through when he's putting it in the bag. i don't know why he's hauling an imac around paris or montreal or wherever but if i accept that it's necessary then his solution isn't awful. a cloth flap with velcro to cover the stand and keep it from snagging on things or getting banged up would be an easy improvement.
