Her performance was good, but I got tired of the character itself extremely quickly. Get it she’s an omniscient being but also like a wine mom!!!!!!

I do like how the husband isn't 100% a piece of poo poo, they do show that he tries sometimes.

Yeah really “everyone” was a huge overstatement. It’s ultimately a show about flawed but well meaning people and the two psychopaths who trample all over them.

That was Anna Gunn!?

I'm enjoying this season of Physical too much for it not to be cancelled. This has been a very good season of television, I wish people weren't sitting on the show.

Now that I'm watching shows that have already aired instead of just the newest episode as it comes out, I'm realizing that apple tv sucks too. It doesn't seem to track that I've seen any episodes so I have to keep track in my head for every show I've watched.

Yes it does? Don’t you have an “up next on Apple TV” line that shows you where you left off?

What device are you watching on? I know it tracks on fire sticks and Apple TVs.

We use the Apple TV app on our Sharp TV and it's kinda crap - it does lose track of shows we watch, the navigation isn't great, and for some reason we have dropouts with Apple TV shows about twenty times as often as we do with Netflix of Disney+.

I'm on PC, so I'm in a browser. It doesn't track that I've watched any episode of anything.

My up next lists the shows I'm following, but if I click on them, it goes to the first episode.

Oh. As sort of mentioned above, it will continue if you’re using the apps on either an iPad or appletv.

Possibly related, I've noticed if you have an Apple Music subscription and listen to their “radio stations” in Chrome it works but doesn’t show the currently playing song like it does in an app or in Safari.

Black Bird wrapped up its six episode run and I really enjoyed it. Dramatized true crime is not necessarily my favorite genre but this was an engrossing, tense ride.

It absolutely held me for about a movie's length of scenes spread across the episodes, but in between those scenes I was thinking "why isn't this a movie".

If you've bever seen it, the 70's Francis Ford Coppola movie 'The Conversation' has a fantastic score that must have influenced the Severance theme, even if subconsciously. Great movie, great score, check it out; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUsEIdHxBPk

Nevermore.
I've got COVID, so I've been doing nothing but binging shows and sleeping. The one thing I'll say about Apple TV is it's got more really good content on there than you'd think, but you kinda have to hunt for it because they just don't advertise most of what they've got. I knew about For All Mankind, and Servant but other than that I've just been browsing around and watching stuff that catches my eye. I've had more good luck with that than bad, but there was also one stinker (Suspicion, because the twist at the end was terrible and ruined what could've been a good show).

Severance was surprisingly good, I hope it has a second season. I also watched Shining Girls, which was a spooky, mysterious show that had a satisfying ending. I've also watched For All Mankind, (excellent) Servant (meh) . I also just started watching a show called Surface, about a woman with short term amnesia due to throwing herself off a ferry and nearly dying. It's a mystery, you wonder if she really tried to commit suicide, or maybe her husband tried to kill her. It's ongoing, so I have no idea what the answer is, but it's entertaining enough to keep me watching.

It's such a cheap subscription, I'm definitely getting more than my money's worth!

\/ \/ You're right, COVID brain plus too much streaming got me confused, Raised By Wolves is not on Apple TV but HBO.

I recommend AppleTV to everyone I know that is looking for a good streaming service. Not only does it have good content, but they are liberal with free trials and only $4.99 after that. For that, you get access to many old, great series and movies with new ones coming out constantly. I really don't know how they keep sub costs low and provide so many great series. I think right now they are just building up a catalog and user base before upping to $7.99 in a couple years and then $9.99 a couple years after that. Meanwhile Netflix is pushing like $20 or something and adding ads or some poo poo? I'm on the brink of canceling mine, but I can't because my mom, my niece and 2 of my nephews use it.

Edit: forgot to add the recs you are looking for: i'd recommend catching up on SEE, the 3rd season starts next week and I love the premise of it. Jason Mamoa as a bad rear end in a world full of blind people? Ted Lasso is also really good. For movies, while they don't have a ton and seem to focus on series, CODA is a must watch. Finch and Palmer were also great. Palmer kind of came out of nowhere for me but I really enjoyed it.

It seems like the website recently started tracking episodes I've watched and now it pops up with my next episodes line HBO max does.

Edit: Nevermind, It was only for the episodes I watched on my ipad. So now I just have a single checkmark on a for all mankind episode.

Yeah, same here, I loved the first season as campy fun, appreciated the world expansion in season 2 but think I only got halfway through the season. But it's one of those things I will definitely finish at one point. I think a lot of people just got hung up on the "everyone's blind" concept and wrote it off based solely on that.

Also, I think Jason Momoa does legitimately good acting in it. Adding Bautista as his brother in season 2 was a great move, too.

I watched the third season premier. It's fine. Totally different vibe to the first season at this point but it's fun to see all these actor cameos from Stargate/Jonathan Tropper shows. Classic nest of vipers show.

I like the way Jason Momoa's character walks - it's completely different to every other blind person in this world. It must be exhausting to creep around the way he does.
