In BJW, what do "Special Alpha" and "Special Beta" Deathmatches refer to? I keep seeing those on Cagematch card listings. I also saw a "Super G-Shock Deathmatch" on one.

G Shock is just "this match features Kankuro Hoshino or Akira Hyodo, who are in a team together called GSHOCK1010".

Alpha Deathmatch just means "and more". As in barbwire board & Alpha means barbwire boards and more stuff, like maybe there will be a razorboard in one corner and all those lighttubes you could desire.

Not sure about Beta in this context? Were the Brahman Brothers in the match?

OK, so it's like the Street Fighter Plus Alpha method of naming things.

The card with Special Alpha/Beta on it was this one.

I'll rephrase.

A lot of shorter matches are hosted directly on the server. These would go away.

Longer matches are mostly on Mediafire, and you will be able to find those links through the archived version of the site. And I can probably find a way to accommodate special requests.

Hayato Tamura had agreed to sign with ZERO1, but they didn't have enough money to pay his asking price so they asked him to wait a few months. During that period he instead chose to sign with GLEAT. ZERO1 got upset over it and stripped El Lindaman of their junior title and severed their relationship with GLEAT.

Speaking of GLEAT

The 4 people who still watch AJPW, make sure you catch at least the top 2 matches from the Chiba show on the 24th. Real great matches with Atsuki vs Kento, probably the best singles match of Atsuki I've seen, and the main event with Jake & Hokuto vs REAL BLOOD

Of course they also announce Suwama will sit out the Royal Road, & his replacement will be TARU so it's not all great...

I was loading up the All Japan show from the 18th (pretty much just for the main event) and got very angry when I saw Ashino teaming with TARU on the event page, thought maybe I missed he and Honda breaking up again. Big sigh of relief when it was actually SUWAMA teaming with TARU, can safely skip that match

I may be misremembering, but didn't he have a great match with HAYATO a couple of months back? Although if this one was with Kento I can imagine getting the absolute most out of Atsuki

G1 moves on, 5 Star Grand Prix starts, NOAH have their last 3 shows before the N1 begins, Tokyo Princess Cup moves into the Quarter Finals, ZERO1 has the Fire Festival Finals (I didn't include it because the card is unknown but it'll air on SamuraiTV Sunday August 7th), it's tournament season in Japan. But actually it's all quite quiet during the week, almost everything happens this weekend. And the biggest shows of the week aren't even tournament shows, as Dragongate have their annual trip to Kobe World Memorial Hall, & like last year it's a double header: night 1 is the Ultimo Dragon 35th Anniversary show, which we have a full card for, & night 2 is the traditional Kobe Pro Wrestling Festival show where we know who will challenge for the titles but not much else. Ultimo has even brought across lucha legend El Hijo del Santo, his first time in Japan since 2019. The Night 1 Open The Twin Gate match between Z-Brats & the team of JFK & Jason Lee is one everyone should keep an eye on, it'll be an absolute barnburner.

To clarify this, it's a comedy gimmick match from Toryumon where Stalker Ichikawa takes on 10 wrestlers one at a time (edit: not all at once, in a series), who all squash him within a few seconds. It usually features a surprise guest appearance.

This is probably more of a "wouldn't it be funny if" thing than an actual rumor, but people are speculating Satoshi Kojima as the final opponent.
