Oh yeah that rules… but I’ll never get over them patching the ability to “yeet” other cars though.

Don’t have time to look for a video, but you used to be able to pull up beside a vehicle and hit the shiny boost for that side and it would pull the car with so much force it would throw it like a 100’s of feet. It was hard enough to explode most street cars if they hit a building right. It was so much fun.

Think Vigilante on steroids is how hard it would throw lol. They patched it and I’ve never been the same.

On another note, a friend of mine and my brother wanted to try playing gta. They’re on Xbox so I had to go back to that account to see what was up. It’s pretty fun, but man I miss owning everything and having a ton of money lol

Yeah that looks awesome. I went with the 100% NOS boost for maximum speed and plowing ability, but I think I'll eventually switch over to the shunt boost when I can stomach spending the 500k on that. I want to make another casual cruiser Arena car, but I think I should probably get a scramjet first.

edit also hell yeah to the nightclub earning 50k/day instead of 10k, and making it much easier to keep up popularity

You should get the death bike, that was the sole reason I bought the arena workshop and it was worth it. Being able to drive down the hills and just bunny hop over someone's whole house is pretty fun, and the weapons it has are very funny to use

Hey what's come out in the last... 3 years that's good to check out with heisting friends for fun and money? We haven't played since the doomsday heist because we hated doing missions in public lobbies, we did a couple warehouse runs in an empty lobby earlier which ruled but only really gets me money.

Keep an adversary in the dark about what you're capable of, and he has to assume the worst.
The Casino Heist is excellent with 3 very unique approaches, Heat style Aggressive, Ocean's 13 style "Big Con", and Mission Impossible style Stealth.
Preps are done in the regular open world, some preps work is optional, and within those three approaches you still have some choices that matter.

They also added the Cayo Perico heist. Less variety than the Casino Heist and there isn't really an incentive to do it other than the optimal way, but you can definitely have fun with friends with this as well.

I name this haircut "The Sad Rhino".
So I had a fun experience last night...

I've been playing some on my old xbone account so that I can play with friends. That in itself is interesting because while that account has some fun stuff, it's lvl 180 and my main account on PC is 570-something and owns absolutely everything in the game. I had waited all the way up until the last day you could transfer characters from other platforms to PC, however many years ago that was. I remember grinding a bunch beforehand thinking that it would put me in a better position with both accounts once I transferred. It worked... Crates were the only game in town back then, so I had a full medium crate warehouse.

I've done a lot of crate sales before and have done every scenario solo. While it had been a while, I figured I'd go ahead and give it a go. The session I was in wasn't private, but there were only 2-3 other players scattered around the map. I went to my warehouse and clicked to sell them all: 1.4million at risk.

Go to the marker in the airport, and see a titan parked with a buzzard next to it. Ok cool, I've done a ton of these. I get in the titan and 10 markers appear; then I remember that I've got to clear them of enemy heli's first. No problem, I've got 28 or so minutes on the clock. Get in the buzzard and immediately realize I should call in the one other plane I own other than the Dodo, which is the hydra. Grab that and head out to each marker. None at the first 4 markers, but there was one waiting at the fifth. Take care of him but take some machine gun hits. Still good. get to the 6th marker and another buzzard. Take care of it but take some more. Crap, hydra is smoking.

Get to the 7th marker and no Heli... awesome. 8th had none either. Get near the 9th and 10th markers and see the flashing lights indicating a helicopter in the vicinity. Line up the cannon of my still smoking hydra and BAMMMM. dead.

wtf? I'm re-spawned around the altruist camp and sawmill. BAMMMM. dead.

Oh crap. I had gotten this sell mission once before and knew I was screwed. I'm sure most of you know what's next: The last heli was a valkyrie. It has that cannon that's almost the strongest gun in the game. And the npc's are on point with it. For those who don't know or haven't experienced it, they're like the npc's on solo sales of export vehicles but with a cannon.

I'm getting killed before I can get a shot off. over and over and over and over and over. I even run out of ammo for my homing launcher because I'm killed while holding it and lose that ammo. I can't buy more from the interaction menu because I'm killed before I can. I swear they killed me a couple of times before I was fully spawned in. I'm now spawning on the side of mount chiliad and getting killed and ragdoll down the side. The only reprieve I get is when I spawn behind a tree or in a position where they can't get a shot off. But I can still hear them shooting this whole time... shooting at the scenery with shots that would have certainly hit/killed me again. Even when they can't get line of sight, they're maneuvering to get it as quickly as possible. BAMMM dead, BAMMMM dead. It's seriously constant. I must have died 40 times back to back so far with only a 3 second break. I'm BARELY able to buy full ammo through the interaction menu. I'm being spawn killed in the direction of Paleto.

There's another player in Paleto Bay who has seen me die all these times I'm sure... or at least heard it. He comes over to investigate. and is immediately blown away. BAMMM, I'm dead; BAMMM he's dead. I'm out of homing launcher ammo and switch to RPGs. I spawn behind a building. The cannon is hitting the top of the building constantly trying to get me. powpowpow, dead. Of course, the valkyrie has machine guns on it too. gently caress

The other guy is getting drilled too, which thankfully gives me a bit more time to line up a shot with an RPG. He is my new hero. I'm trying to get a shot in, but I'm free aiming with a controller (after playing on PC for years). BAMM dead. BAMM dead. I finally spawn behind Ammunation... I can see the tail of the heli, but then it goes out of view. I start lining up a shot. As soon as it comes, fire the RPG. BAMM dead.

Holy crap, the heli is gone from the minimap when I spawn in. I must have hit it! holy poo poo it's gone. I've got about 10 minutes left on the clock (i think... this may not be accurate, but I believe it to be true). Call in a Hydra, call in the first CEO vehicle I can mash buttons for, Cognescenti will have to do lol. I get in and head over to my Hydra. My new hero seems to want to see what's up. No chat on xbone so I can't explain.

Get to my new Hydra with hero in tow. Park the cognesenti half on a pylon, run to the Hydra and hit 'Y' to start the painfully slow "Climb up, Square up, kick the canopy open, etc". Hero pulls up close in a beat up Sentinel. Starts shooting me. I'm dead. :(

fuckin A, my hero has betrayed me. I have spawned in the woods. This not being my first go around, I open up my phone (in real life) and pull up my router's settings page (UDM-PRO) and find my xbox. Push block client and let it sit at the "are you sure" confirmation. I'm not gonna let the xbox save my "failed sale".
Now that I've got an insurance policy of sorts, I go "talk" to my hero. He wanted my jet I guess, because he's now hovering badly. I've got assisted aim on so when he hits something and ejects out, I lock onto his ejection arc and kill him mid-air. serves him right. I call Pegasus, but I'm too close. I get the immediate call back telling me they can't put it there. I get in the cognescenti and peel off down the road, thankfully my hero doesn't seem too quick to get back to the police landing section. call pegasus again. seems to have worked. head back to Paleto.

The hydra spawned, thankfully hero is still on the beach. I'm able to get in and take off, using the speed glitch to trade height for speed and move as quickly as I can while skimming treetops. I am sure of this time: I had 8 minutes left on the clock.

The rest is kind of anti-climatic. I got to the airport with around 5 minutes left... option to kick my xbox off the internet still enabled.
After all of that crap, flying the titan around to the 10 checkpoints was kind of relaxing... and about half-way through I knew there'd be enough time. No other players gave me any trouble. I think I had a minute to spare, but I wasn't looking at the clock since my hero was still near the last checkpoint.
I considered messing with my new Frenemy, but the sale was completely successful, so I just let it go.

I wish I could write better, because it was wild as hell. After playing this game for so many years, there are still fun/suspenseful moments to be had.

We just started the cayo prep today and there seems to be a whole lot of goddamn setup for this one. Sneaking around the island to take pictures of stuff sucked. We also had a glitched entrance to the sub after getting the cloaking device thing and figured out we could just spam the interact button near the front of the ship and get in with like 10 seconds to spare. Found reddit posts complaining about that same thing from 2 years ago, lol.

If you do it as the game tells you to, there’s a lot of extra stuff you don’t really need to do. Down n dirty you can do the scope and preps in around an hour total, then 10-15 min for the finale

Also if it’s the very first time you’re hosting it, there’s some extra cutscenes and forced running around, taking pics of entrances and points of interest. Once you have these they stay every time for you like some of the casino heist setup

On repeat heists, the scope is grab a motorcycle and drive directly to the tower, hack it, and leave
One vehicle mission, one weapons mission, 3 equipment missions. All of these have some extremely optimized strategies, but that would be a whole different effort post

How's Cayo work with a party? It's not the standard 4 player required heist (at least I don't think so?) so is this 1m or so/hour going to be split amongst whoever is in the group at the time? Sorry for the questions, my friend is the one who bought the sub so I can't see what he's seeing and he was making it sound like we had to do everything last night.

More people means you can grab more loot, but there’s a point where you hit diminishing returns. It takes 2 people to open the special loot doors in the compound without glitching. Payout is split however you choose to apportion it.

Yeah, split between players. Host sets the split %.

The primary target will net the most money, but there are usually a few secondary targets in the finale compound behind double keyed doors. One keycard will be in an office upstairs from the primary target along with a safe with some cash. The other keycard is carried by a random guard. Get lucky and that guard is one of the first you'll kill.

There are secondary targets spread throught the island, but they're hardly worth the time.

The first run should net a cash bonus, too.

I wouldn't worry about how much you make in the first run. Call it familiarization. Pay attention to guard patrol patterns, camera placement, secondary target locations, and get used to the fingerprint hacking minigame. There's a certain amount of randomization, but the finale usually plays out the same way.

IMO, I'd play it safe and follow the host's lead until you have enough money to buy your own submarine. Then y'all can trade Cayos back and forth for maximum cashflow.

Money problems are about to be a thing of the past for you!

Got my own Sub and successfully completed the Cayo heist 3x yesterday :c00l:

I haven't managed to do it undetected yet so no elite bonuses but once I realized you don't even need to make it to the dock if you're spotted and instead can just dive off the cliff into the water and swim away it made things so much easier. I'm saving up for an Oppressor MkII now so I can more efficiently complete the setup missions. It really is a colossal pain in the rear end getting on and off that sub sometimes so I was planning on getting the Helicopter but it sounds like the Oppressor can be parked on the thing and is probably the better option since I can also use that as a motorcycle. I don't care about the nerfs to it because I don't plan on playing in an open lobby ever again.

The sparrow is better than the oppressor, and that's not even factoring in that using the oppressor MKII for stuff makes it feel like work. At least with the heli there's still some game to flying it.

With the sparrow, you get into and out of the sub through it, no time wasted with doors and stuff. when you call it in through your interaction menu it ends up right beside you. just make sure you destroy it every time you use it so it's not on the map somewhere.

Hm okay, i'll do that then! It's cheaper too so I think I can afford it now. It seemed incredibly useful but I wasn't sure if it'd do the thing where you call for the helicopter and it lands like a mile away from you or how restrictive it was with how/when you can call it.

There's a cooldown, and you can't call it if it's already on the map, but it shows up on roads and stuff.

If you are registered as or in an MC you can instantly summon your most-used motorcycle directly to you, which the Oppressor Mk2 qualifies for. You also regenerate health to full while riding your favorite bike.

Actually any motorcycle, even those stored in a non-clubhouse garage! The game calculates your "most used" motorcycle as whatever bike you've been riding the longest - so if you spent a ton of time in the saddle, it may be many (many) hours before the game changes your Favorite.

You can AFK it with a button-tapper app to avoid getting kicked for idling (Autohotkey is what I use) and leave the game on overnight / while at work. Distance traveled does not come into play at all, only total hours riding.

The health regeneration on non-favorite bikes (and other vehicles) stops at 50% HP. With the Favorite Bike bonus, it'll regen you to full health.

I've completed the heist about 7 times since making this post, lmao. Once you find a good route through the compound the only hard part is not missing headshots and making sure cones aren't overlapping with who you're killing. It's all about a good route. On a good reliable solo route for me the cones will never overlap and the whole finale is done in about 11-13 minutes depending on secondary loot locations. I find repeatability was more important than doing it a minute faster.

Yeah, if two players both players can get the Jade statue saved and get lucky with gold layout at the same time then the time for the entire heist goes down to like 9-11 minutes total for a fat was of cash. Sooooooo much money. Just alternate finales forever.
