Keep an adversary in the dark about what you're capable of, and he has to assume the worst.
Because you're approaching them from the side you don't enter their cone pretty much until you are cracking down on their face. The pistol whip animation is very short, not sure if it would work with a rifle.
Here's a video of someone doing it in 1st person, (I've done it fine in 3rd person). Timestamp is 9:30 if that doesn't come through.

Also if you are already that far just get on the motorcycle that's right there and drive the bike off the cliff to the left over the helipad. It's faster than manually running off the cliff and a shorter swim IIRC.

This is good to know, thanks for the info. I always assumed since they were looking at each other that if one died the other would immediately trigger the alarm but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Okay so what the hell are the rules with the footstep sounds if that dude is just freely sprinting around like that? I have shot the gun in range of an enemy's marker before and they heard the shot with the suppressor equipped. Do footsteps not alert guards?

Edit: I'm not saying this isn't possible it just feels like he's doing a lot here that has got me caught before.

The amount of times I have limped a sparrow back to the sub and basically guided its fall into the mash E zone and cheated death is unreal.
Also little used but you can do the exact same underneath the sub if you're swimming/in the toreador.

I found that driving very gently down the cliff meant I could actually ride the motorcycle a short way around rocks at the base. I usually try to grab a boat from the docks for a cinematic exit.

Of course, old Eagle-Eye in the patrol boat spots me seven times out of ten, but it’s very satisfying to hijack him, throw his rear end in the ocean and make him swim back to explain himself to Mr Rubio.

The cliff I'm talking about has no rocks at the base at all that I remember, you sail over it at high speed and land about 40 yards into the ocean. I've also never seen a patrol boat there.

I did realize this but my brain still locks up when I try flying that way. Earlier I tried flying away from some enemies shooting at me with the kb+m instead of picking up my controller and basically flipped on the spot and blew myself up lol.

I get you, I just scraped through the flying parts in the single player game, and the lessons absolutely sucked and did not help. What did help me was just freely flying in a helicopter slowly and deliberately following the motorway and doing a lap of the entire map. I still have small issues with landing planes perfectly, but you can absolutely fly with keyboard.....eventually.

If you exit Evil Kenivel-style off the South-West point, you can definitely get a huge distance out to sea. Used to be plenty of boats, but Rockstar seemed to remove them to stop players just sniping them off the cliffs.

When i head to the North Docks, there's always one guy in an attack boat, who can apparently see me no matter how deep I swim.

The Toreador (at least was) surprisingly good for a car. Its no oppressor grief machine but it has ridiculous infinite missiles and the boost + submersible means its very versatile.

If only it could fly itd be perfect

I have 8 basic garages and all the specials filled with super cars thanks to El Rubio's ATM. 9 minutes run for 2.2 mil, and with working from home I could run 3 to 4 on my lunch breaks. That way everyone on the surface can get hosed and its like a 5 second swim from my sub to theirs

You mean steal the jammer from the other sub? Drive your sub right up to them, up periscope and destroy all the boats and the helicopter with Kosatka.

It saves multiple seconds if you beach it near the city when you're doing your prep missions. putting it under the bridge to the east of the airport is the closest to stuff, but there are rocks there it can get really stuck on in a bad spot.

Continuing along the speed run tips for cayo prepping. If you get the follow the merryweather chopper mission for weapons, just fly to the docks and blow it up immediately. Even if you get the same mission roll again and blow it up again, its still faster than actually following the thing and doing the skyscraper weapons raid instead.

For the fingerprint cloner mission I noticed an odd glitch. If you stop on the way to the locations and go into an ammunation or clothes store, the act of going through those doors sets off the alarms in the mission locations.

I don't bother resetting the follow the helicopter mission. You're not guaranteed to get the skyscraper next. You can look on the map to see what direction the helicopter is going, fly straight down its path until your lock on missiles target the merryweather guys and start clearing them out while you wait for the helicopter to actually arrive and land.

If you've got the cruise missiles on your sub, it takes about 30 seconds to blow up the chopper from anywhere on the lower half of the map. It's worth trying 10+ times to get rid of it.

This doesn't save that much time but it's fun, when you have to go into the warehouse and kill the dudes for the fingerprint scanner if you just throw a grenade into the back of the room it will chain explode like 5 things and kill everyone in the room. That usually includes you but you spawn like 20 feet away so no downside

I did that with a sticky bomb once. The force of the explosion resulted in my guy getting a flaming motorcycle to the face at VERY high velocity. 10/10 for comedy purposes.

Having timed it out I can blow up the helicopter 5 times and still do the mission slightly faster than if I followed it once. It only averages about 1.2 blow ups to get a mission in the city. Over 62 cayo runs I blew up 70 helicopters to never have to follow one. On average it's way faster to never follow the chopper by several minutes a pop. This is using sub fired cruise missiles and parking the sub west of the Airport. I kept track of a lot of stats in an attempt to make things faster. In the end solo it was taking 56 minutes a run including the cooldown time end to end with a little over 1.6 million a pop average.

Lots of solid Cayo talk lately. Love it.

God help me, I'm kind of having fun not grinding that Panther (ew). Spawn in the Agency and grab my daily cash, do an Agency contract, follow that up with an assassination. Hit the autoshop to mod and deliver both cars (my gal is waaaayyy better at not loving the car up now). Maybe visit the bunker for an Ammunation mission. gently caress around in the nightclub to keep popularity high, make a sell once and a while. Good fun. Keeps me busy and lets me use all those nifty vehicles I paid for.

Which brings me toooo, liking the nightclub more and more. Is it worth the time and money to buy/upgrade the businesses there? I just have the free cash creation one and base goods.

The sell mission is mostly painless. Cargobob the van wherever, then drive the second part. $150,000 per run. Should I get the other vehicles? The van is kinda fun modded up but I really don't like the other trucks in base form. Is there an advantage to having the bigger ones?

The only upgrades that matter for the Nightclub are the ones you buy for the nightclub, as far as I know, and you definitely want those. Upgrades on the businesses themselves don't seem to count for the nightclub. You're going to want to assign techs to (more or less in order of profitability/time) cocaine, meth, cash, cargo, and guns. The last two biker businesses (weed and fake documents) are probably not worth it unless you want to completely fill up your nightclub warehouse before selling stuff, which...I don't know why you'd want to do that. There's a maximum value for Tony's cut which means you'd make a little extra money for doing it, I guess, but the effort and time required hardly seems worth it.

As far as the other trucks go, you only need one if you've got the full five floors in the Nightclub and would rather do one big sales mission infrequently rather than several small ones fairly often. It's entirely a matter of taste. That said, you should definitely avoid buying the middle-sized truck, because it's remarkably bad and the largest truck is sturdier, drives better, and can handle middle-sized and large-sized shipments.
