You guys get video with (some) production values?

Our compliance training are semi-interactive slides occasionally with voiceover. If it's a local health & safety thing, it's outsourced to a third party and doesn't even refer to the company in any way.

our latest ones had like 5 minute cartoon segments for each concept, which had actually decent production values, but each segment was totally unskippable and touching the time slider would cause it to restart the segment so it was way worse than when it was just slides

at the last place i worked it had like a suggested time and an average time for each training subject. so like it was suggested: 20 minutes, average: 4.5 minutes. so you could tell everyone is just skipping through the slides and slamming in answers to the quiz.

only our active shooter training had video and it was filmed in our offices. it was alarming to watch the "hide" clip and realize it was one of the meeting rooms, the one with glass walls!

compliance trainings are stock photo stories, maybe a little cartoon character pasted next to a corruption definition

same, I take it as a personal insult when the thing is full of slow slide transitions and clickable poo poo before you get to the multiple choice questions at the end

one the other month on development policies came with a 50+ slide PowerPoint you were presumably supposed to read and had questions on all sorts of esoteric bullshit from it. I was sitting by my boss when I did it and we both did the same thing which was ctrl+f the answers and ignore the rest of the pack

last one of those i did was a torturous series of like seven 30-minute online slide presentations, each narrated by a synthetic voice that sounded like a robot on quaaludes

fortunately, i discovered after the first one that you could click the "i am deaf" accommodation button and it would give you a pdf with the presentation script. then it was just a matter of skipping to the quiz and ctrl-F

i had a training recently that was just a ~30 page slidedeck, but in a popup browser window, and it had a thing at the bottom that you could click at any time that said "i have read the above presentation and understand" or something. it looked exactly like one of those cookie warnings, so i clicked "yes" out of habit without really reading and it marked me as complete and closed the window

there was a great one that was like "you are in the middle of a deployment and there is a problem, what could you do?" And the correct answer was like "revert the change and contact management to raise an incident then arrange to redeploy in a week" whereas the real answer is "decide if you can fix it and then YOLO a change in because who's gonna know? Rollbacks are for chumps"
