idaho springs is my favorite mountain town because nobody really loves it. everybody jerks off over vail or evergreen or winter park, but there are some good places to eat and nice places to stay in idaho springs. Glad you had a good time! and i bet you got that nice weather too

it was a good hike, was only in denver for a day or two to see my brother, but I will be back again soon so denver area recommendations are appreciated. Idaho Springs is a cute town, we got lunch on there on the way back down to denver.

When I was 17, my father was so stupid, I didn't want to be seen with him in public. When I was 24, I was amazed at how much the old man had learned in just 7 years.
My power is scheduled to be off all day and I'm WFH so I can't very well computer janitor without it (I could probably pretty easily since I usually work off my phone but I'm not going to tell the that), so I am taking PTO and am going to drive off into the desert after crawling out of bed at noon.

botanic gardens are a must. theyre pretty even in the dead of winter (obviously eye popping in spring through fall)
red rocks is a city (yep!) park, if theyre not setting up for or having a show its open to the public. nice to go up there and chill and see the city spread out below
popping down to garden of the gods is always fun, bout an hour south
meow wolf has been open for a while, gotta go at least once
and then after youre done with all that we'll meet up and go trawl the good blocks of Federal for pho, you will burst at the seams

Taz has really gone downhill imo. The setting of Amnesty was really cool though

There's a massive trail system nearby that is maintained by the ski association in the winter. Took in the fall colors with the dogs this weekend.

i didn't like amnesty very much while i was listening to it but i find myself very fond of it in retrospect; i'm still keeping up and enjoying everything so far but honestly i like those boys so much i'd probably listen to them podcast about crossfit or some poo poo if thats what they decided to do next.

i took this photo over the weekend by holding a cheapo monocular lens up to my iphone 11 pro. i think i was slightly zoomed in on the camera software, which is kind of a bummer because i think it diminished the resolution some, but its still one of the coolest pics ive ever snapped
