Well there's no spirit inside M3GAN so no metaphysical component. Chucky shouldn't get sole possession of killer doll anyway. Annabelle was good and like Groundhog Day it should be a category.

They should have it be like an Asimov story, the doll keeps "causing" these deaths in a way that there's plausible deniability, even though we as the audience know the doll is definitely evil and responsible. In the end it turns or the doll actually can't hurt people and was not actually responsible for the deaths. Robopsychology!
