the gilet I posted earlier? yeah it looks good and is nice and warm but it rides just a little far up in the armholes and after about a 40min walk it was absolutely stinking. I'm going to have to switch from just deodorant to antiperspirant when I wear it.

It's all garbage, even stuff like Bonobos have really gone down in quality. The best types of pants I have found are at stores like Uniqlo. They'll even tailor it to your exact height if you ask them.

it depends, basically the more sewing something has the harder it is to find something that isn't a million dollars or crap. t-shirts and socks are easy, pants and jackets are findable but you have to be careful and I can't find button ups or decent underwear

walmart owns bonobos, you shouldn't be shocked by them getting slowly worse

uniqlo has decent undies. ralph lauren as well.

the thing that gets me is the wild swings in quality even within a brand. one thing that is guaranteed is every season things get worse.

Costco makes pretty good underwear imo, especially for the price.

I think they still make some small leather goods (belts, wallets, that sort of thing) in Seattle but otherwise I think this is right.

Buy some clothes just a little too small. It will definitely motivate you to lose the weight and not just further depress you every day when you still can’t fit into them.

i got off the john muir trail this past summer and about a week later it seemed like my grandma's health was failing, so I rushed out and bought a nice new black suit to prepare for the worst. anyways she recovered and i've gained like 15 lbs since then :cawg:

dont buy a suit right after doing a thru-hike. what an idiot. lmao

I have a pair of 541s and they're comfortable. I have weird legs in that my thighs and butt are relatively large (I work out so in theory I'm the market for 541s) but my calves and feet are pretty small, so its hard finding pants that are slim and tapered enough to not make my calves look baggy but aren't tight up top

i had the opposite problem years ago. i got measured for a tux for my friend's wedding and then lost 50 pounds in the following months. they were able to make the necessary adjustments there in the store but they weren't happy about it lol

they are extremely my poo poo. they also have some sisterhood of the travelling pants properties in that they fit me at varying and vastly different fitness levels.
