What'll it take to reach Shula, 5-7 years realistically?

Billy-boy ain't giving up!

Belichick, the NFL's longest-tenured head coach, notably once said he didn't plan to coach into his 70s like former Bills coach Marv Levy. He later softened those remarks.

Asked Sunday morning whether it's safe to say he wants to return next season, he replied: "I'd say that would be accurate."

Ha ha! Billy's "end game" is to learn to send text message to intended recipients!

BOSTON (CBS) — Bill Belichick texted the wrong Brian to congratulate him for getting the Giants’ head coaching a job, according to a lawsuit filed by former Dolphins head coach and former Patriots assistant coach Brian Flores.

The lawsuit showed text messages of Belichick sending congratulations to Flores for landing the Giants job on Jan. 24. That text was sent two days prior to Flores actually interviewing for the job.

After Flores initially appeared confused by the text message, he asked Belichick, “Coach, are you talking to Brian Flores or Brian Daboll. Just making sure.”

Belichick replied: “Sorry – I f—ed this up. I double checked & I misread the text. I think they are naming Daboll. I’m sorry about that. BB”

The lawsuit alleges that Flores was then “forced to sit throug a dinner with Joe Schoen, the Giant’s [sic] new General Manager, knowing that the Giants had already selected Mr. Daboll. Much worse, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, Mr. Flores had to give an extensive interview for a job that he already knew he would not get — an interview that was held for no reason other than for the Giants to demonstrate falsely to the League Commissioner Roger Goodell and the public at large that it was in compliance with the Rooney rule.”

Some "friends" are fleeting, Bill. Of course, Belichick never struck me as the type to have friends anyway.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is many things. One of them is a coward, according to Donald Trump. Yahoo Sports columnist Charles Robinson reported Sunday on a forthcoming book, ”This Will Not Pass: Trump, Biden, and the Battle for America’s Future,” which is due to hit bookstands in May.

One of the items discussed is Trump’s attempt to give Belichick the Presidential Medal of Freedom shortly before leaving office in 2021. However, in light of the Capitol insurrection, Belichick declined the honor. And that didn’t sit well with Trump, according to an excerpt obtained by Yahoo Sports.

“One of the rejections that had bothered him the most had come from Bill Belichick, the legendary coach of the New England Patriots who had declined Trump’s attempt to grant him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
In the immediate aftermath of the riot, it was just not possible for him to appear with Trump. Back then, Trump said, Belichick had “chickened out.”

But get this, Trump claims: The coach had just a week earlier been playing golf at Trump’s nearby course. Trump had run into him there on the second-to-last hole. “He came up to me on the seventeenth,” the former commander-in-chief recounted with relish.
Stretching credulity for anyone familiar with Belichick’s gruff persona, Trump claimed: “He hugged me and kissed me.”

That must've been an agonizing choice for Brady: supermodel wife or Donald Trump.

I mean who knows, but Brady never seemed to have any actual political convictions of any kind, not even bad ones. Basically I think Brady is ignorant as poo poo about everything but football and Trump was just a rich golf buddy bro to him.

I think its more this. The dude would live in an absolute bubble of football and being wined and dined at charity and fun stuff. I doubt he'd ever heard a speech or press conference he did.

Plus I mean, he's Tom Brady Giselle and Trump were lucky to have him, not the other way round. know your worth kings.

Another "end game" achievement unlocked...

Bill Belichick moved into sole possession of second place on the all-time wins list as the visiting New England Patriots defeated the New York Jets 22-17 on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Belichick now has 325 wins (regular season and postseason), with Sunday's game breaking a tie with Hall of Famer George Halas, the longtime Chicago Bears coach (40 years). Don Shula holds the all-time mark with 347 victories.

Belichick downplayed the milestone, crediting players and saying: "Maybe we'll talk about that when it's over, add them up at the end."

However, Patriots owner Robert Kraft presented Belichick with a game ball for his achievement.

Literally any other coach would have gotten fired for replacing their OC with Matt Patricia, taking a top 10 offense in the league to basically the worst offense in the league, and then calling the owner a cheapskate in the end of the year press conference

I don't think he would straight up fire Belichick, but Kraft could demand changes in the coaching staff or the FO that would probably piss Belichick off enough to quit.
