if someone tells you that they're having computer issues ask them what POS they're running and then regardless of their answer just say "that's a shame"

11 has noticeable lag on all my students' laptops when doing stuff like opening the start menu (replacement). and the interface changes all suck.

10 is like 7 and 11 is like 8. i'll wait for windows 12.

the ACSC security hardening guidelines havent been updated for win11 so if you run win10 21h2 it's easier to tick boxes

biggest issue with windows 11 is kind of new, in that it *used* to have at least one headline improvement (wsl stuff), but now that's backported to 10. so there's no reason to go on 11 until you're either on too new hardware (e.g. raptor lake) or 10 exits support.

This reminds me. I just recently started using powertoys run and it's so much better than the current start menu search (in windows 10; I still haven't used 11) that I literally don't understand why they don't either include it with windows or maybe even just take it and use it instead of the current start menu search?

powertoys is great yeah. it's a flashback to the era when computers had a bunch of useful settings that the programmers thought would be useful instead of a control panel with three sliders that all don't do what you want

new MS teams adventure today at work
somehow, the text input box changed to "drop your files here" during use, and nothing I do can get it to go away. Can't click through that thing to type text, that's for sure

it's UI race conditions all the way down
