Progressive JPEG posted:nz has inexpensive common carrier ftth but it's kinda pointless to get more than a 100mbit plan because latency is usually the bottleneck anyway when I went from 100 to gig I actually noticed the difference in browsing which I didn’t expect, websites are hueg these days.

the cisco 897VA deffo has a Broadcom VDSL controller, i don't doubt that Netgear and others probably use the same one. they're probably the only ones still making DSL PHYs these days

it doesn't have a vdsl controller, its a router, but the codename is from when you do cpuinfo. most of the broadcom cores are similar across device types though, the series is usually like 53xx or whatever and the other digits will be different categories don't worry about it lol
