if the bred is a little bit droopy or likely to fall over at all, the guard holing the toast vertical is simply inadequate -just the two wires you can see in that video preview. if it falls over or bends a little bit because it isn’t already toast, the motor just keeps going and crams the bred into the heating element and sets your house on fire. no flames in the video but you can see the issue.

amazon reviews are full of people making the obvious pun.

lol yes notable kitchen product maker black and decker, definitely an item I would "buy because of the brand name", well done Amazon buyer well done.

fiber to the butt?

Fibre-to-the-Building, usually deployed in apartment complexes. an ISP will install a DSLAM in the complexes MDF and then run a fibre connection to it. this then allows them to deliver services to apartments in the complex via VDSL2 over the complexes internal copper POTS wiring. because the distance from the MDF to an apartment in the complex is usually <100m the attenuation is super low meaning that your sync speed will usually be above the speed that the ISP limits you to.

my ISP gives me 100/40 and i sync at around 150/45 so the DSL connection is never the bottleneck (mostly, there's still the whole ATM encapsulation problem):

the cisco 897VA deffo has a Broadcom VDSL controller, i don't doubt that Netgear and others probably use the same one. they're probably the only ones still making DSL PHYs these days

it doesn't have a vdsl controller, its a router, but the codename is from when you do cpuinfo. most of the broadcom cores are similar across device types though, the series is usually like 53xx or whatever and the other digits will be different categories

don't worry about it lol
