per various folks on Twitter, James Gunn is supposedly doing press for the first part of his DC slate today, with the info embargoed until tomorrow. Grain of salt, but we are at the end of the month and he hasn't said anything about the announcement being delayed into February or later.

Dave Bautista reports that he was approached to play Bane in a new DC movie, but declined because he feels he's too old to commit to that kind of shape without serious risk to his health.

I don't think we need Bane to be a roided out hunk of muscle if the actor can bring something better.
Bautista certainly could have .

Make it a performance enhancing drug keeping a broken body together or something. Play up the cunning and intelligence that was part of Bane's initial attack on Batman.

Bautista also talks about how they’re starting from scratch and that he does not want to commit to a 15 year rebuild of a brand.

Get a beefed up wrestler for the physical performance, and dub over him Darth Vader style with the person who does the voice on the Harley Quinn cartoon.

Go for that dude who played The Mountain or something, just an absolutely towering freak of nature. Mask him up and do a Vader like you said. Pull the reverse of the Mario Bros movie and get a real voice actor for it. They got rid of Charles Martinet in order for Chris Pratt to do a voice that is somehow both "Brooklyn guy, sort of" and also "literally nothing," so our Bane will be voiced by, of course, Charles Martinet.

They could do that, and they should. The could also do "normal" sized Bane and venomized Bane. Have a fancy actor for normal size and the Mountain for venomized. The size change doesn't always seem to be consistent across the comics, but the movies never follow that anyway.

I was sort of lukewarm on Tom King's Supergirl: True Grit, so seeing it turned into a movie is ehhhh. A Booster Gold show, on the other hand, sounds like something right up Gunn's alley.
