They're both good but I like how the remake allows for more texture/counterpoint in several of the tunes, and the wider range of instrument voices allows them to do cool tricks with like, using traditional instruments for the frontside fields and more synth-heavy stuff for the backside. I think it adds to them.

There are definitely lots of games with great music (well, as is made obvious by all the posts in here) but I've been listening to the Crusader Kings 2 theme recently. It's a very epic piece of music, mentally preparing you to tackle the world and assassinate clubfooted inbreds for the throne!
