If Kikuta brings the fire that he brought in the Key match, then there will be at least two moments where I sincerely bite on the near fall. It's a good Dead or Alive defense. For those who don't know the gimmick is freelance joshi wrestlers only, so you get a good cross section of the scene and just good workrate matches without much story. Usually a surprise or two. It's a little less unique after Stardom started doing New Blood and Showcase but the overall match quality tends to be higher.

DG is apparently not doing a Dead or Alive cage again this year, or at least not at DoA itself. It's possible later in the year, but the most I've heard was last year when they said they wanted it to be a stipulation that only comes up when it makes sense in storylines. Which is fair, but the match itself makes no sense either, and there have been unit disbands matches where it could've been appropriate. It's a big draw for people outside of the DG bubble, so why not just build one up? I miss my goofy-rear end cage match with confetti bazookas and remote controlled karate robots.
