This season's battlepass seemed a lot easier. I just played four hours straight and hit level 100. No skipping or anything. It's a double XP weekend, and they have had a few this season. For two of them now, I happened to have a 3-hr double XP token as BP reward, where it stacks as 1.5x. Just ripped through these last levels today. I try to mix it up with the specialist and 100% 3-level all the available ribbons in a match. 95k was the best I did today.

Let's get drunk and kiss each other all night.
I find I still keep going back to MW2 multiplayer (and sometimes resurgence) over 2042, but 2042 isn't bad. It just feels a bit different how it controls and it's just me not being used to it still I think.

Playing Rush/Breakthrough with bots is the most annoying experience because your team on offense seems fundamentally incapable of capturing points.

Ya I meant old school RTS games use to have chat lobbies in client. Don't think BF ever had them but I never played the older games. I guess these days everything is on discord but I prefer not to use voice chat in most scenarios.

The game is in the best state its ever been and the player count has jumped something crazy like 300%. I'm down to squad up with goons and I play almost every night - add me on EA as KingTriggs. My buddies and I have a discord that we can use.

I'm kind of surprised how the game managed to turn itself around. It's still kinda janky (and I don't think the new class system was very well thought-out*), but it doesn't have many bugs that actually interfere much with gameplay (as opposed to launch when you'd shoot people and it flat-out wouldn't register).

There's also a pretty substantial selection of guns. I really wish they'd add some skins for the vault weapons, though. There aren't really any "normal" LMGs that work similarly to the XM8 or the new RPK. They need to add an "AR-like LMG" as a normal weapon.

* The one upside is that it's given me an excuse to play people I never used to play, like McKay (who I now use so I can access the sticky grenade launcher, the best gadget in the game).

No, the DLC just gives you cosmetics during the season tier unlocking.

if youre trying to stream cheats, silent aim is such a terrible idea because it means the shots do not match where you are aiming and is immediately detectable by anyone looking for it lol. it's probably one of the few "legit" cheats where you can watch their video and definitively prove someone is cheating beyond a shadow of a doubt.

some dude did a similar thing in titanfall 2 with silent aim, but they have 4.5 million views on their cheater video lol

So silent aim points your gun somewhere other than where you are looking?

Henrik Zetterberg

I’m starting to love the poo poo out of Paik. Her goggle scanny thing can be SO good. Immediately hosing down someone you see through walls about to turn a corner toward you feels like cheating and it’s great. I get like a billion intel medals each round too.

comedyblissoption
Mar 15, 2006

silent aim is a cheat where the bullets are aimbotted to a target within a configurable range from your crosshair without actually moving your crosshair or view. so the bullets aren't going to the center of the screen.

it looks more "legit" when you set a smaller distance because it doesn't manipulate the crosshair, and gameplay is usually so fast it's easy to miss that the shots are not lining up with the crosshair like they're supposed to unless you slow down the footage.

Is this game worth $20? I need a new game. My favorite BF was BC2 Rush. Is there a similar experience? Some of the Steam reviews mentioned game crashing and instability. After dealing with Division 2 crashing constantly I'd rather have a stable game, and if this is an issue I'll pass. Also, is 4k possible with a 10700k, 32gb, and a 3090?

Broke down and bought the game yesterday. Feels good. I used to play hc exclusively in 3&4, and the ttk kinda negates the need for it. Can you play hardcore in this anyway? Was nice to jump into Canals and Caspian. Movement felt slow at first compared to wz but you get used to it. Sensitivity was a big gently caress though, I have my mouse on max DPI and then set in game sens low, but even on 0 in game its way out of control so I'm still fine tuning it. Hopefully unlocking weapons isn't too much of a grind. Coming from wz, it felt so drat nice to just blow someones head off in one clean sniper shot, none of this two shots to down poo poo.

Inspector Hound

There's a billion options for sensitivity, and I've seen custom servers with lowered ttk, although I don't know if you get xp or unlock anything playing in them.

Imagine using jets in 2042. Maybe one day I'll look into figuring out why they feel so awful (probably sensitivity, I was OK with them in BF3 & 4), but it's so rare that I even bother getting one anyway. At least you have more of a chance after they separated the vehicles a bit.

Feels like Rush is not that popular these days. You might end up playing partly with bots depending on the region and time of day. You might find that Breakthrough scratches that itch though. You just need to get more of your team on a cap point than the enemy. It's like Rush without the MCOMs.

As for stability, I have close to 500 hours played and can barely remember any crashing (at least in the past year or so). Dunno about performance, as I use 1440p res, but with a 3080 and AMD 5900X get great performance on mostly high settings, so... maybe. If you get it through Steam, I think you can play for a couple of hours then get a refund if it doesn't work out for you.

I feel I still do OK against Paik -- you get the notification that you were scanned, so my senses are heightened, I'm waiting for a Paik to jump out, and I don't blindly run around corners for a little while.

Ha, I was wondering why that yellow banner pops up from time to time, seemingly random. I assumed that someone stuck a dorito on me from far away, but it would happen even inside.

If you like BF its still BF especially after they readded classes as of last year or this year I forgot when. For the performance, I am not sure I am running it at max setting on a similar setup(amd cpu) but I play on a 1440p monitor and I have never had a single framedrop even in explosions. So performance wise I never had issue, in past games I know there was issues with Raytracing + no DLSS early on.

If you play solo you just have to get good because 99% of the time you will be with other lonewolfs that suck and don't play for objectives. I play solo, started off awful but now I usually end top 5 almost every game, switched from engineer to medic.

As for crashes, I never had any crashes, only bug I have encountered in 100+ hours is getting stuck trying to load into a match. For the current price it's definitely worth, great game to take steam off on late nights. If you have xbox gamepass you can try it with that, I know it's on PS+ as well but playing a fps with a controller is another nightmare.

I was just checking the battlefieldtracker website, and it's interesting. Apparently my friend and I are just sort of okay in terms of K/D (top 43% for me and 33% for him), but we usually place much higher in actual matches, presumably due to focusing on objectives and doing other stuff like revives, etc.

The only stat that confuses me a bit is HS%. If that means "headshot %" it seems a little weird that both me and my friend are in the very bottom % (bottom 24% for him and bottom 9% for me). That might partly be a function of me primarily using LMGs, so I'm putting out a lot of bullets and don't get headshots that frequently.
