Well then have his wife dictate his terms (or whoever isn't going to just let him batter himself). Maybe they are just weird about it like people are just weird about things here, but I'd also imagine like here that it's just generally unspoken that if you don't grind yourself down you get set aside for any sort of advancement, and by the time you don't really have to fear it you just can't stop, and may not even know why you would. I dunno how to finish this post but I'm doing it because I hate typing one up and deleting it. Hope he gets well soon and is made to seriously commit to his health, for his loved ones sake if nothing else
