rip to all the 24/7 the specialists roleplayers who surely must have straight up died rather than stop playing of their own volition

I would do this for sure lol. I dropped my big badass project bc I'm too stupid to work with custom textures and sounds. And I wanna get over my frustration by just making a nice little vanilla set.

If you require coop you could do cool traps and stuff..like where they start at different parts of the map and have to use switches to open up each others level, meet up for some big blow off arena fights etc. drat that would be cool.

what I wouldn't give to hang out on that one map, at that one gas station slash convenience store and be hastled by some prick rping a cop trying to handcuff me when I just accidentally hit jump while standing next to him trying to buy some loving doritos off the attendant guy....

I liked Whispers of Satan, not too complicated, around the base-game's difficulty level as I recall.

Getting back into Doom wads recently and this was a killer recommendation. The levels are "just complex enough" and have a good spread of enemies - challenging without feeling overwhelming.

I played the first level on the Vita homebrew port and didn't like it.

Bought it on PS4 even though I already owned Quake 2 on Steam (it gets upgraded for free, just like the Quake 1 remaster)

It’s fun even if the campaign isn’t great, plus online co-op :hellyeah:

Staring at some bleak brown textures while Big Gun cranks in the background and lonely human grunts suffer in their cells watching some buff as gently caress jiggly skin bag dude shouting Hua! Hua! Uff! Ufff! is a peak 90s experience. The rail gun alone is enough contribution to fps gaming by itself

Arcane Dimensions still rules. i love the huge sprawling maps that take like an hour+ to clear, they feel like megadungeons from an old D&D module

i grew up playing Q1 custom maps and open-source clones like cube 2/sauerbraten, so it was nice seeing a bunch of familiar usernames in the credits...

i am trying to learn UDB but all i managed to do so far is make a single room that is extremely fail. but it is prolly the best doom wad with one tiny room and nothing else of all time

quake 4 was unfairly maligned thanks to having a singleplayer campaign and running on the doom 3 engine which was way too demanding for pcs in 2005, its multiplayer was top tier. its was q3 with ramp jumping and power sliding added to the mix
