Platystemon posted:I am with you in not watching the video, but just look at that graph. It has 4 different years represented in the bar graph and has an arrow showing the delta from the first point to the fourth, indicating that while it benefitted all students it did help reduce the racial gap in education. Like i am assuming these are scores on a standardized reading test but it doesnt seem too incomprehensible Now it would definitely be better with more numbers But not exactly the worst graph I've seen Tunicate has a new favorite as of 22:25 on Nov 14, 2023 |

right but look at the colors, if you take the legend at face value then scores went down from 1999 to 2008

The most underrated graph crime: Making pictures with a transparent background so the legend becomes utterly unreadable after switching dark/light mode.

They were so happy they found a place in Hawai'i with poopoo in the name (not pronounced anything like that) that they skipped right past Royal Kunia, and Puna.

DACK FAYDEN posted:well now I'm interested, how is that poopoo pronounced? The second word there is Nāpōʻopoʻo. Each ' represents a glottal stop, so the pronunciation is something like "na po o po o". The bars over the vowels play into the exact pronunciation, but I'm not clear on exactly what they denote.

The kahako denotes a stressed or elongated vowel. Official signage has only recently started featuring the okina and kahako. For over a hundred years, you had to just know a place's actual name.

Yeah I'm very curious as to the exact wording of the question that was asked. "Feel happy" and "feel less stressed" are wildly different goals.
