Becky and Sasha put the entire company on their backs during the pandemic and were the only WWE wrestlers to get mentioned in the Observer awards in the good awards to win, i think they were third in best tag team. Fake edit: checked - Bayley outright won womens wrestling MVP with Sasha third, they came fifth in tag team of the year, Bayley came seventh in US MVP and Bayley came 6th in the wrestler of the year award AND Sasha was an honourable mention. They received no credit for this.

well it'd be kinda weird to do that since Vince's favorite reporter to harass is Dave Meltzer.

sleepwalkers posted:now, i wouldn’t wish this on anyone else, but if you’ve seen any smackdown in the last 2+ years, it’s pretty obvious bayley has been and probably will be treated better than bray wyatt, the guy who wrestled 10 matches in a year including an instance where they more or less took him off tv for 4 months before they beat him and gave alexa his gimmick. contrast that to someone they had on tv for like ~20 minutes nearly every week and had the belt on for over a year. Yeah, it's certainly not like WWE has ever cut loose people they had big plans for and sank a lot of time and money into before. I mean, no offense to you, but nothing you said there means absolutely jack poo poo when it comes to whether or not someone gets cut from WWE. Not when we're talking about a company where the heir apparent son-in-law just got demoted out of running developmental and recruiting talent in favor of Brother Love and Johnny Ace, not while Nick Khan is slashing big salaries left and right, and especially not when Vince has a very long and storied history of blasting both his own feet off when it comes to not properly marketing people who are very highly marketable. Your argument relies on assuming that Vince will be sensible and continue to treat Bayley well (or at least, WWE's version of treating someone well), and I don't think that's an assumption anyone can safely make. If Bayley doesn't get cut, it's going to be because Vince doesn't want to let her go to AEW, not because he has some special regard for her or sees her as the top talent in the women's division.

I was definitely in the "Urgh, Dolph's brother? That's a waste of a roster spot!" camp when he first arrived, but I'm happy to admit I was wrong and now I love him. It helps that he seems like a very decent person in a very scummy industry too.

To be fair, he was very bad, bland, and doing Dolph Ziggler-lite stuff in his first few matches before he developed more of an on-air personality. I think what started to sell me on him was some group promo where he was building up his match with, I think, Moxley and at the end of his piece deadpanned into the camera "I must win this match" or something like that. It was just so matter of fact and dry that it made me crack up for some reason.

I met SeXXXy Eddy, and through him starting in the biz, I met a bunch of others guys just starting up etc...and now you happen to know a lot of them.
