Or one similar to it.

I need to grab a mag carrier before I head out, too.

Ah, I was a little confused earlier, but I can relate. I used to carry my Glock 22 in a similar offering for Galco and loved how it felt when I was outside doing stuff around the house. I think it will suit you well on your road trip. OWB is always more forgiving and comfortable than IWB for obvious reasons.

And if you do decide to go with a j frame, http://www.donhume.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=65_5&products_id=53

It was mentioned a long time ago that someone was working on a reboot of this thread. Does anyone want to make that happen? The OP is 5 years old and says nothing useful and it would be helpful to have info on recommended products, defensive ammo, new hotness in CCW pistols, and so on instead of sifting through a 1000 page thread.

So I ordered a new holster from Stealthgear USA called the Onyx a few weeks ago. It's a hybrid style holster but instead of leather it uses a breathable mesh. Living in Houston, the leather backing of my mtac would sometimes get uncomfortable during the hot humid days so when I got a new gun and needed a holster I tried this. It's pretty pricey at $100 but thats not much more than a comptac mtac.

So far I like it. The backing is more comfortable when it was hot and doesnt stick to your skin. I like how they have different size backings for each gun so you don't have a bunch of excess material for a smaller gun. When I first got it, the retention was really tight. It does not have dedicated retention screws like the Mtac but you can loosen the screws holding the body on to help a bit or use a heat gun to loosen it. I just slightly loosened the screws and did a bunch of draws and it loosened up after breaking in a bit i guess. Reholstering has to be done slow and deliberate since it will partially close like a mtac. You kind of have to angle the gun in , muzzle first to open up the holster then slide the gun down. Once I got used to I could do this easily one handed but still would go slow. Slow reholstering isn't a problem for me so I dont count it as a negative but you have to be a bit more careful. The only real downside I have for it right now are the clips. I'm not a big fan of these clips since they are kind of a pain to get over my belt (Ares Ranger) but they do hold their place pretty well. They are also pretty adjustable for ride height and cant.

I've been using it with a m&p compact when I know I won't be taking to gun off for most of the day and it has been super comfy carrying 10+ hours. I generally carry around 230-3 o'clock with a little bit of cant (right handed shooter) but also tried it at 4-5 and it works great no matter what position. If you wear it past 230 and closer to aiwb it probably wont work due to the size.

I was going to and then people bitched too much and annoyed me so gently caress it. Go for it.

Thanks, I had these on my list of things to put in the OP but now I don't have to go find them.

Feel free to send me me other links, I don't want the OP to just be me yammering.

Has he not done similar tests for .380? I feel like that should probably be addressed given the popularity of guns like the LCP and other .380s.
