Side note, I wouldn't describe the Glock 26 as "tiny" - it's very compact, sure, but certainly not a "pocket" gun like the LCP/P238/etc.

My LCP is carried in the kydex Aholster linked earlier, and it fits (and conceals) just fine in the back pocket of a pair of jeans.

I generally carry mine in my front right pocket, where I carry my phone normally. Back pocket works as well, and is probably easier to draw from.

I ran a walther PPS + MTAC over a summer here in Toledo, OH, which is humid as poo poo. I wear basic Hanes undershirts and it was never an issue.

I live in Houston, and haven't had any problems with it. I usually wear an undershirt to keep the grip off my skin, but even if you don't, most of the holster is inside your pants, not sticking out where your shirt is. Wear underwear, I guess is what I'm saying.

I was a huge proponent of MTACs until I wore one through an Iowa summer. Maybe I'm a sissy but they seem to retain a TON of heat. I much prefer the CTAC over the MTAC, even though it's slightly less comfortable just because the kydex doesn't bother me when it's hot as gently caress out.

I found an answer to my own question regarding sign posting in MN at https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=624.714:

quote:

Subd. 17.Posting; trespass. (a) A person carrying a firearm on or about his or her person or clothes under a permit or otherwise who remains at a private establishment knowing that the operator of the establishment or its agent has made a reasonable request that firearms not be brought into the establishment may be ordered to leave the premises. A person who fails to leave when so requested is guilty of a petty misdemeanor. The fine for a first offense must not exceed $25. Notwithstanding section 609.531, a firearm carried in violation of this subdivision is not subject to forfeiture.

I guess you can carry anywhere you want in MN as long as you don't get asked to leave! Even if you refuse it's only a $25 fine so what the hell, eh?

Not a lawyer, but for something that's only $25 serious, I'd guess not. Also, it says they can't take your gun. My guess is they escort you out of the building / off the property and fine you.

According to mn statute 624.713 it looks like you can be DQ'd only for more serious offenses: felony, violation of restraining order, assault, domestic violence, mental health issues, etc.

The full list can be found https://www.revisor.mn.gov/statutes/?id=624.713#stat.624.713

The reason I wasn't sure is, in Colorado and possibly other states, I think there are a small few misdemeanor firearms-related crimes that don't prohibit you from possessing a firearm, but do disqualify you from holding a concealed handgun license. Multiple DUIs and reckless endangerment come to mind, however I am still working on a citation...

Yeah, I usually carry mine in my back pocket, but a jacket pocket works fine as well. It handles the recoil surprisingly well for it's size, too. I honestly can't say enough good things about my LCP.

This is the law in TX, but I'm sure it varies from state to state... basically class A or B misdemeanors will get you a suspension (along with other special conditions)... anything more will result in a revocation.

quote:

GC ß411.187. SUSPENSION OF LICENSE. (a)A license may be
suspended under this section if the license holder:
(1)is charged with the commission of a Class A or Class B
misdemeanor or an offense under Section 42.01, Penal Code, or of a
felony under an information or indictment;
(2)fails to display a license as required by Section 411.205;
(3)fails to notify the department of a change of address or name
as required by Section 411.181;
(4)carries a concealed handgun under the authority of this
subchapter of a different category than the license holder is licensed to
carry;
(5)fails to return a previously issued license after a license is
modified as required by Section 411.184(d);
(6)commits an act of family violence and is the subject of an
active protective order rendered under Title 4, Family Code; or
(7)is arrested for an offense involving family violence or an
offense under Section 42.072, Penal Code, and is the subject of an
order for emergency protection issued under Article 17.292, Code of
Criminal Procedure.
(b)If a peace officer believes a reason listed in Subsection (a) to
suspend a license exists, the officer shall prepare an affidavit on a
form provided by the department stating the reason for the suspension
of the license and giving the department all of the information available
to the officer at the time of the preparation of the form. The officer shall
attach the officer's reports relating to the license holder to the form and
send the form and the attachments to the appropriate division of the
department at its Austin headquarters not later than the fifth working
day after the date the form is prepared. The officer shall send a copy of
the form and the attachments to the license holder. If the license
holder has not surrendered the license or the license was not seized
as evidence, the license holder shall surrender the license to the
appropriate division of the department not later than the 10th day after
the date the license holder receives the notice of suspension from the
department unless the license holder requests a hearing from the
department. The license holder may request that the justice court in
the justice court precinct in which the license holder resides review the
suspension as provided by Section 411.180. If a request is made for
the justice court to review the suspension and hold a hearing, the
license holder shall surrender the license on the date an order of
suspension is entered by the justice court.
(c)A license may be suspended under this section:
(1)for 30 days, if the person's license is subject to suspension for
a reason listed in Subsection (a)(3), (4), or (5), except as provided by
Subdivision (3);
(2)for 90 days, if the person's license is subject to suspension for
a reason listed in Subsection (a)(2), except as provided by Subdivision
(3);
(3)for not less than one year and not more than three years if the
person's license is subject to suspension for a reason listed in Subsec-
tion (a), other than the reason listed in Subsection (a)(1), and the
person's license has been previously suspended for the same reason;
(4)until dismissal of the charges if the person's license is subject
to suspension for the reason listed in Subsection (a)(1); or
(5)for the duration of or the period specified by:
(A)the protective order issued under Title 4, Family Code, if
the person's license is subject to suspension for the reason listed in
Subsection (a)(6); or
(B)the order for emergency protection issued under Article
17.292, Code of Criminal Procedure, if the person's license is subject
to suspension for the reason listed in Subsection (a)(7).

I picked up a Bodyguard .380 yesterday. Really love this thing, small, solid, well built.

One thing I'm wondering though, how bad of an idea would it be to pocket the gun without a pocket holster? I figure, since it has a safety it should be fine, right?

Very.

I wouldn't rely on that safety at all. The times I've held and fondled one, it seems very difficult to turn on or off (why is there even one on there? It's a DAO gun) and not something I'd want to fidget with when I needed it.

The Desantis Nemesis is a fine little pocket holster and costs like $15. There's no reason not to have one.

IIRC that's half the normal minimum fine and well under the $700 maximum fine you'll face for anything other than being asked to leave (and refusing) because they saw your handgun.

Starting January 1st, we will no longer be able to produce spare bodies for Minotaurís Generation One (1) leather backings. I'm a little peeved that the window for change is so small. I only bought a gen 1 holster exactly 2 years ago, and the gen 2 didn't go into production until November of this year. So two months to buy spare bodies?

I love the haphazard method of determining which model you have. If I measure in the location they show, mine comes out exactly halfway between the Gen1 and Gen2 measurement they specify.

Based on what you say, if I got my holster in Jan 2010, it would be a Gen 1?

Yeah, mine measured as halfway in-between as well. Luckily, I knew that mine was a gen 1 because I had ordered a different spare body before gen 2 was an option. And yes, based on Jan 2010, I'm pretty sure yours is a gen 1.

It'll really come down to what the trigger is like and how heavy/comfortable it will be compared to an LCP. We know it won't blow itself apart *cough*Kel-Tec*cough* and if the trigger isn't awful, I'd be curious about it.
