gently caress yes, the New Happy Medium video is out. I'm only 10 minutes in and have already seen loads of incredibly creative stuff. And some massive poo poo from Jaws too of course. Some cracking tunes too. Love these guys.

13 year old became the first woman to land a 9 to vert. Even crazier is how it's almost a mirror of Tony's, down to squatting for her life and the steezy hand drag.

The kids have been taking over by storm and they're fuckin built different, god drat

Ofc angry idiots are saying it was a 7 revert but they're also the same people who revert their full cabs

This is going to be the girl who won that street contest in Japan earlier this year isn't it.

e: it isn't! But that's sick what a feeling that would be.

She was also the first woman to do a 720 in a contest run last year.

Shame that vert isn't in the Olympics.

Also the first woman to land a switch 540. Tony Hawk has done more 900s than he has switch 540s because they're that gnarly.

You'd have to ask him since he made them up. You could argue they're variations on the boneless but I dunno sometimes they aren't at all.

Yeah. I was just thinking if playing tons of THPS as skate punk influenced my vision of what was possible. I know I didn't learn bonelesses until they were included in the second game, and I never gave a gently caress about caveman poo poo.

Boneless has a grab involved, these are more like no comply variations.
I'm only being pedantic because no comply is such a cool name, as well as one of my favourites to do, feels so nice. Not that I ever did them like this total magician.

Reminds me on Andy Anderson a wee bit, especially the slappy variation he does. Not to detract from this guy's skills, Andy is incredible. The guy is so rad, and also an incredibly cool and lovely human.

Always nice to see this stuff getting appreciated as some people (twats) don't think it's legit. Gonna take the opportunity and post Andy. This is also a great film as well as a load of amazing tricks. Also. a bonus Richie Jackson joint since he's definitely in the weidcore gang. And finally, the high priests of the found art style, the Fancy Lad crew. Truly the Butthole Surfers of skating

Finally got to visit MACBA. It's cool to see a spot in person and get a sense of scale to everything. All the ledges are in much better condition than I expected, way more crowded with skaters (in a good way), and the flatground is just perfect. I got dropped off by a taxi nearby the plaza and our driver took the initiative to say "the best skateboarders are here."

Good god, that is so good. Particularly loved him befriending 4 cops and giving them an impromptu skate history. Kind blows my mind that Natas did that 40 years ago, I can vividly remember when that part dropped. Ugh, so old.

Anyway, I'll post this as it might getr missed what with being a Red Bull vid. It's really good though and has some interesting behind the scenes type stuff which explains what he was doing to the first section of that long rail.

I'm going to indulge my Andy adoration since you lot seem to love him too.

Check out this explanation of his grip tape. Total mega-brain ultra-genius shiz. His explanation of the shape and size of his deck is alo really interesting, but this is some real next level material.
Supposedly his model(s) are Powell's best sellers in many many years which is extra cool as he had plenty of people who thought he was a dweeb initially. I know there will still be some, but gently caress 'em.

BTW is that deck twin tip? I could never find those when I was skating and I hated constantly having to check which was the nose and which was the tail.
