The only PSP game I've tried with it is NHL '07. It's not exactly the most taxing PSP game out there. I also fired up my NES emulator and sadly games there also suffer from a bad framerate.

I'd say make sure you have the PSP running at its top speed, 333/166 or whatever. You can do this from the VSH menu (press select on XMB) or the recovery menu (hold R while cold-booting). Messing with some of the settings in the RemoteJoy client might help, but I've never seen problems like that with the default settings.

For a 3000 and PRO:
1) Download PRO and PRO-B5.
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/2052
http://pro.coldbird.eu/
2) Download the 6.20 or 6.35 Firmware Update (3.65 works fine for me, I don't know the advantages of 6.20)
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/2036
3) Put the unzipped firmware update in PSP/UPDATE
4) Put the unzipped contents of the PRO downloads in PSP/Game. Ignore the fast recovery from base PRO, just include B5's. Keep them in their original folders, so it looks like F:\PSP\GAME\Fast Recovery\eboot.pbp as the file structure. The folder name isn't actually important (its display in the PSP is read from the eboot) but that it's in a folder is.
5) Turn on the PSP, go to the far left menu, and select update firmware. When given the option, choose to update from memory stick. You'll need your battery fully or nearly fully charged for this step.
6) Go to the game -> Memory Stick menu, and run, in order
7) PRO (it's got a yellow game icon)
8) Pro-B5 (blue with 'upgrade')
9) You're done. Go to System Settings -> System Information to confirm, your firmware version will have changed from "6.35" to "6.35 PRO B5".
From now on whenever you turn your PSP on from a full shutdown (instead of just sleep mode), you'll need to run Fast Recovery (blue with 'recovery'). The other installers (firmware upgrade, pro, pro b5), you can remove from your memory stick.

Hey OP, can you put this in there somewhere? I had a hell of a time finding a straightforward and non-conflicting set of instructions before reading this post.

For those wondering btw, the difference between 6.20 and 6.35 that I can see (remembering that I haven't been in the cfw scene since forever so take this with a grain of salt) is that 6.20 can be permanently patched in, meaning you don't have to run it again after a hard reboot. It can only work on normal psps though (no 3000s, psp-gos or ta-blah-blahs)

It's permanent on your 3004? That's the part I thought doesn't work on those models. If so, that's really cool. Anyway, like I said, I spent roughly an hour reading up on homebrew stuff yesterday and that's it, so I'm by no means an authority on the subject.

Works on almost anything actually. The entire reason someone looked into the trick it uses was in order to get permanent cfw for newer psps. Of course, Sony fixed the flaw in 6.30 before it was even found out, so its 6.20 only.

Don't want to patch stuff for 6.30+, TACTICS OGRE, and don't consider running a HEN app for fifteen seconds on the eight times a year they actually reboot their PSP to be an inconvenience. (This is also why Fast Recovery seems a little silly to me.)

Okay, I dug out my old fat PSP 1000 (6.2 firmware) and ran through the process in the OP. I got the HEN working, and loaded up Hellcat's firmware dealie to install the 550 GEN-D3 CFW as instructed. But when I actually tell it to install, I get this:

code:
Unassigning flashs....
flash3: wasn't assinged - that's OK
Extracting special updater .PRX....
Loading updater modules
 Error 80010002 loading/starting nand_updater.prx
 Error 80010002 loading/starting lfatfs_updater.prx
 Error 80010002 loading/starting lflash_fatfmt_updater.prx

There have been critical errors!
ABORTING!!! and so on
Any thoughts, guys?

Maybe try formating your memory stick? This is roughly the go to solution for bizarre behavior in Wii homebrew so... :shobon:

Otherwise, download both the firmware and Hellcat's packages again. The errors sound like the firmware package, or perhaps a file(s) in the recvoery app are missing/borked.

Either way the above steps shouldn't harm anything, so you won't lose much anything but time for trying until perhaps a more informed idea pops up.

I am having a problem with remotejoylite 0.19 freezing whenever I try to save a game. I have unsuccessfully tried closing remotejoylite while I save and unplugging the usb cable while I save. The only thing that has worked is pressing F3 to toggle the screen transfer off, but I am bad at saving without being able to look at the screen. Does anyone know of a fix for this problem?

Update remote joy. I am using 0.20a(lpha). You must update the plugin as well as the Windows application. Otherwise, disable any other plugins.

This should allow you to sign the driver and get it to load. If you have trouble you can just leave Test Mode enabled. I do, because I am retarded and put security secondary to ease of use, but you know. I also don't have anything to compromise on my gaming computer.

I have a psp 2000 model with cfw m-33 on it. Now, of course alot of games are now being released as OFW, should I upgrade to another firmware? Will the usual emulators still work with them (gpsp, picodrive, etc)?
