vkeios posted:Well Some1's Downgrader has been updated for 6.60. And now you can downgrade to whatever firmware you want now (Please don't do something stupid like 1.50 on a Go though, that definitely won't work). I have a launch PSP with custom firmware and am a bit out of the loop as far as newer models go, but does this essentially mean I can walk into a store and buy any new PSP and be able to use proper homebrew on it?

At this point, yep. Hell, how many of the current in store psps even have 6.60? Isn't it pretty new?

Nothing should have 6.60. Not even the PSP-E1000,* which isn't out yet. *the E1000 is a europe-only budget-line PSP that lacks Wifi and costs €99.99. Might as well get a used 3000 or Go instead.

I thought that my PSP had 6.60, and is even listed as the latest firmware?

Well drat. Apparently over 600 roms will cause snes9x euphoria to crash on start up. Do any of the other emulator programs have an issue similar to this?

Am I doing something wrong with Masterboy? Every time I quit I have to screw with the settings again, which is even more annoying than RIN.

I ended up just dividing the roms equally into different folders (roms A-C in one folder, D-F, X-#, etc) to get around it. I'd have made fewer and larger folders but AFAIK you can only scroll through roms in RIN individually rather than paging through them like most other emulators.

Of course, I've been systematically giving each rom about 1-2 minutes play on desktop, and deciding which to put on the psp for now. It takes longer, but there's a lot less bloat. I'll probably do it for the NES one however, because good lord. Sprite141 fucked around with this message at 01:54 on Aug 26, 2011 |

Euphoria is weird. I've seen people on the internet swear its so much better. But personally I found its buggy as all hell.

Are you guys talking about SNES9X TYL 0.4.2mecm? Because while the performance is good it has a "feature" that stops you from saving your game in any way when the battery gets to about 20%, which is really really annoying because there is still plenty of playtime left.

Both emulators had this annoying bug where I couldn't get into the UI anymore and had to force power off by taking out the battery.

What's the best CFW for my PSP GO that won't require running a "fast loader" if a game crashes and I need to restart the device? Is there one? I currently have 6.35 PRO-B3 and certain games I play crash a bit because of the codes I have enabled in whatever cheat device plugin I'm using.

Pro-B9 is no longer in beta, and there's now a version for firmware 6.60. Also Popsloader updated for 6.60. To recap: 6.20 has a permanent patch, which works for most PSPs (some 3000s excluded) 6.35 has no way to permanently install it. 6.39 has the CIPL Flasher, which works on the old hackable PSPs (all 1000s and some 2000s) 6.60 also has the CIPL Flasher. trandorian posted:What's the best CFW for my PSP GO that won't require running a "fast loader" if a game crashes and I need to restart the device? vkeios fucked around with this message at 16:06 on Aug 26, 2011 |

Ok I'm lost. I got 6.20 B9 loaded. I want to transfer 2 psp games from my ps3, but it says the psp is not up to date. Is this even possible with cfw? I just want to play play these 2 games some snes and read some pdfs what do I have to do.

Evangelion posted:Ok I'm lost. I would try to set it to use version.txt in the Recovery Menu and put the 6.60 version.txt in /seplugins/. This may not work, however, in which case you may have to go through Media Go. (Yes it says you have to update, but you can transfer stuff to the PSP from the computer-side Games list.)
|
|
|

For some reason, there's now a separate file for PS3 and Media Go version faking. So instead of version.txt, call the file usbversion.txt. And when using either of the version.txts, make sure the relevant option is enabled in the recovery menu.

Sadly, despite the update to Popsloader, Dragon Quest VII still doesn't work and I can't use any pops above 3.52 and below 4.01 or so. Which are apparently the ones that work. The talk in that wololo thread about popsdeco's beta versions of popsloader say that they have them working, but I have no clue how to decipher what they're doing. Anyone had any luck reading through that thread and getting them to work on 6.39 PRO?

From what I can tell, it *still* have the same symptoms, even with the beta versions. Like I said, I would suggest submitting a ticket here. http://code.google.com/p/popsloader/issues/list And see if anyone responds. Be sure to include your firmware, the previous descriptions, and what popsloader you're using. http://code.google.com/p/popsloader/issues/detail?id=5 <- Looks like someone have the same issues you are with a different game. PSPgo running 6.20 PRO-B9 I've probably missed it in here somewhere and it's totally dumb and obvious but I just can't get ISO's working. Do I have to...package them in a different way or something? I put them in the PSP -> GAME folder but they don't even seem to show up at all.

You want to grab Popsdeco's poploader, just replace your old popscore.prx and popsloader.prx with the ones in the dist folder. And if you haven't already extracted the popsloader modules from the various OFW, Popsdeco has also made a tool for that. I got DQ7 working on 6.60 Pro-B9, with 3.52 pops. Working text windows and all.

I'm on a PSP-3000 using the 6.39 Pro-B6 cfw, and I'm trying to use the PC-98 emulator linked earlier in the thread but I can't get a game to run in it, and all the support I can find online is in Japanese which doesn't help me much. I figured out that I need to select the game file in the HDD menu then use the reset option in the Emulate menu, but then it just gives me this which I assume is an error message: ![]() Anyone have any idea what's going on?

I have a new PSP 3000 running 6.39. Reading over the thread, I don't see anything specific to that software...will any CFW work for it, or should I downgrade to avoid bricking it?
