Looks like Mike Smith has officially left Suffocation. Sucks to see him go, such a powerful influence on drums and the genre as a whole. It will be interesting to see how the band progresses with Dave Culross. No doubt he is a great replacement for Mike and can do the parts, but you can always tell when Mike is on the album with his famous blasts.

So, the tracklist for the actual release of Woods 5 is different from the Christmas promo release. "Keeper of the Ledger" is wild, even compared to the rest of the album.

Philthy posted:Wow, Iron Maiden are headlining Summerfest on the 4th of July. The "worlds largest music festival" in Milwaukee, WI. Alice Cooper is opening. The last time they played Summerfest was 1981 when some other band couldn't make it, so they headlined instead with the original singer. The live bootleg of that is pretty good. So would it be better to see them at Summerfest on the 4th (I've never bean), or just wait until the 5th and see them in Chicago? OR BOTH!

Looks like Peter Dolving quit The Haunted. Probably so he can try to collect unemployment since he keeps asking for money. This can only mean good things honestly. Hopefully more At the Gates stuff happens. "I am officially quitting The Haunted. After years of working with the band, I am out. I have had it. I will NOT answer questions to why. It's no one elses business. Thank you very much. I am looking forward to seeing you people at other shows with other projects." https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=522457875

I don't care how much of a turd he is/was, I really like his voice and his work with The Haunted, as well has his other work in Mary Beats Jane and BringTheWarHome. But since Unseen was such a bad album, I don't care he left, maybe he will get involved with better projects.

I think this album is the musical representation of a fever dream. It fits in with the name of the album, so it makes sense to me.

So yeah, In Somniphobia. That there is a good album, gently caress; easily the most creative I've heard in a couple years. I kinda regret having heard like half the album 2 months before it came out though

He said this was due to starting using in-ear monitors as opposed to earplugs which he used previously and overcompensating. I dunno if that's actually the situation, but that's his explanation.

Here's something for oldschool fans - a track from Baphomet from their now widely bootlegged 1991 test press release Inherit the Dead. A much rougher mix than the Dead Shall Inherit with a quite different tracklisting.

Did any of you guys happen to go to Gigantour last night in Dallas, TX? We showed up late, thinking Vorbeat (whoever the gently caress they are) would be the opening band, but instead it was Lacuna Coil and we loving missed 'em LC and Megadeth are the reason I went :/ Motorhead didn't show up so Megadeth played an extended set...can't say I missed Motorhead.
