Cutest tumor in all of Oncology!

Ooh, that's a pretty good microphone. Mr. Bot, if I may, what will you primarily be using it for? That's an XLR mic, a true industry mic, however, it requires phantom power, so, you'd need a powered preamp/digital interface to plug that into. If you already have the music equipment for that, that's a damned good mic, however, as most preamps/interface combos are another 200 bucks or so, getting that mic to work well enough that you'd be happy with it can be a bit daunting.

I suggest this instead: The Samson C01U podcasting kit. It comes with the USB mic, the shockmount, and a little stand for it, and, pound for pound, it is one of the best mics for the price, if not one of the best sounding mics for home recording period.

In fact, in my opinion, the only other of the great USB condenser microphones that can match/beat (depends on who you talk to) that is the AT2020. This one is a bit more, but, every now and then it goes on sale, but this particular link doesn't come with the stand or shock mount.

So, if you already have the Digital interface and personal preamp, go for that MXL V63M, but, if not, the C01U pack would probably be the best setup. Blue also makes some pretty good USB condensers, like the ever popular Yeti and Snowball models. Though, I don't have any experience with them, they seem to be pretty good mics, the Snowball, however, isn't so good for singing (compared to the rest of the mics we've talked about here), so I've heard from friends who have used it.

If we're allowing me to talk about my own bit of brand loyalty, I use AKG myself, the only one for USB recording is the AKG Perception 120. Which, from everything I've read is every bit as good as one would hope, but, as I don't have any personal experience with it, I've heard it is all in the same basked at the amazing C01U and the AT2020 Microphones! Good luck in getting one, and we're all rootin' for you!

Whichever mic you end up getting, make sure to get a pop filter! Such a tiny little thing makes a crazy difference in preserving the fidelity of your recording by reducing plosives. A must-have for any home recording studio, no matter the size!

I knew before I even clicked that it was going to be the Meteor mic. I'm pretty sure everyone who owns one -- including me -- bought it because it looks like a Portal turret. Incidentally, I haven't tried my Meteor yet. I can hear it sitting in its bag, whispering "is anyone there?"

Lazerbot is like a way more creative, competent and friendly version of the guy running this Kickstarter. Read the comments, Timothy Brown is goon HATE TROLL TIM. He used to be "timb", but then the Kickstarter guy had to put Tim in the game.

As for Lazerbot himself, I am eager to see the animation you and Embergram are going to produce with these products. My own 'animation' work went as far as doing a school project using the game The Movies. Is it still being sold anywhere? I lost my disc long ago.

So if Lazerbot doesn't have PS yet, what was he using ever since he stopped using MS Paint?
Anyway, LazyB, you should check out FireAlpaca. It's a free image editor with a bunch of features useful for drawing and a much simpler interface than, say, Gimp. It's not for animation, but it could prove to be a good substitute for Photoshop.
Also, you definitely should look into getting a drawing tablet. The Wacom Bamboo Fun is generally a great choice for beginners, and it even comes with a copy of Photoshop Elements, so you'd be saving a lot of money there! A tablet might be quite cumbersome to handle at first, but you'll soon find it to be really useful. If you want to explore the digital art medium further, you should definitely invest into one.

Alright, i made up my mind on what i would get with any donations you guys send, since i already have gimp then i am not in a huge rush for Photoshop or any other program at that, the mic though is very important to future projects that i have in mind, so i took Arameks advice since he does have a lot of knowledge when it comes to these things, i decided to go with this http://www.amazon.com/gp/cart/view.html
I also set up a PayPal account and i am not fully sure of how it all works but the email for it is embergram@yahoo.com if there is any issues please let me know so i can try to fix it, and question, do i have to have a verified PayPal account to receive money? if so then it would be delayed a day or two.
I will have more details about why i need the mic some time after i get it, i will post sneak peaks and such, it will be in video form of course.
Thanks again for all the help.

"Upcoming projects" I suppose. Maybe nothing to do with the comic. I'd like to think that LB is a musician, and this way he can record his guitar, for example.

Lazerbot, I don't know your backgrounds on voice acting, but just to be sure, it's a good idea to collect as much information as possible when approaching any artistic medium. There's a megathread in the Something Awful Forums dedicated to voice acting, you might find something here.

I understand many of you're hesitation and such about weather or not to invest in something you're not completely sure about, so i will work on a sneak peak with a somewhat image of what the voice over would be, that way you not only get an idea of how the project will be and you get to hear my horrible mic lol but the project will be animated, the sneak peak how ever won't be, i just want you guys to have an idea of what i want to work on (i am working on the art right now actually) but as i said i am ok with it if you guys chose not to help, i won't be angry at you :P the sneak peak will be done shortly
