Ooh, that's a pretty good microphone. Mr. Bot, if I may, what will you primarily be using it for? That's an XLR mic, a true industry mic, however, it requires phantom power, so, you'd need a powered preamp/digital interface to plug that into. If you already have the music equipment for that, that's a damned good mic, however, as most preamps/interface combos are another 200 bucks or so, getting that mic to work well enough that you'd be happy with it can be a bit daunting. I suggest this instead: The Samson C01U podcasting kit. It comes with the USB mic, the shockmount, and a little stand for it, and, pound for pound, it is one of the best mics for the price, if not one of the best sounding mics for home recording period. In fact, in my opinion, the only other of the great USB condenser microphones that can match/beat (depends on who you talk to) that is the AT2020. This one is a bit more, but, every now and then it goes on sale, but this particular link doesn't come with the stand or shock mount. So, if you already have the Digital interface and personal preamp, go for that MXL V63M, but, if not, the C01U pack would probably be the best setup. Blue also makes some pretty good USB condensers, like the ever popular Yeti and Snowball models. Though, I don't have any experience with them, they seem to be pretty good mics, the Snowball, however, isn't so good for singing (compared to the rest of the mics we've talked about here), so I've heard from friends who have used it. If we're allowing me to talk about my own bit of brand loyalty, I use AKG myself, the only one for USB recording is the AKG Perception 120. Which, from everything I've read is every bit as good as one would hope, but, as I don't have any personal experience with it, I've heard it is all in the same basked at the amazing C01U and the AT2020 Microphones! Good luck in getting one, and we're all rootin' for you! Whichever mic you end up getting, make sure to get a pop filter! Such a tiny little thing makes a crazy difference in preserving the fidelity of your recording by reducing plosives. Lazerbot is like a way more creative, competent and friendly version of the guy running this Kickstarter. Read the comments, Timothy Brown is goon HATE TROLL TIM. He used to be "timb", but then the Kickstarter guy had to put Tim in the game. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1376466869/lore-0 As for Lazerbot himself, I am eager to see the animation you and Embergram are going to produce with these products. My own 'animation' work went as far as doing a school project using the game The Movies. Is it still being sold anywhere? I lost my disc long ago.
