What's with BYOB spinning, anyway? I've been vaguely curious for a few months now, I like that the icon also spins on the forum list.

The spinning pics is neat but sometimes it makes posts hard to read. But maybe you are not supposed to read BYOB. BYOB is an experience. Just poo poo post into the void.

I've heard rumors of thermostats in direct sunlight, barbecues put so close to plastic paneling to warp and melt it, wall socket wiring somehow rigged to start fires, putting more mass into the house than he dug out to make the foundation so over time it'll sink into the swamp, but I don't have facts or understand them too well. I put something into the SAclopedia on groverhaus but maybe someone who knows better could add to it?

I think there were also a bunch of electricity outlets right underneath the ceiling, though I might be mixing that up with some other ill-advised goon house.

Groverhouse isn't really that funny anymore. Some dumbass sucked at houses and half the site made jokes like "load bearing drywall much?" about 7 years ago. We really need some new jokes to replace this worn-out king of the hill episode.

Then it's a good thing that laughing at groverhouse doesn't stop us from making new jokes.

Yes, in the kitchen there are electrical outlets every few feet over the cabinets. Because you can never have too many outlets (when you are your own inspector.) ![]() Here is where he melted the vinyl siding with a grill. ![]() The famous pictures are from the back, here is a front view. Building a new house but rely on cheap window air conditioners instead of central air. Nice. ![]() And some interior shots from when it was finished. Kuiperdolin posted:What's wrong with these stairs? I don't see it. The problem with the stairs is the knee-height window at the bottom there. So if you misstep and lose your balance instead of banging into a wall you're going to hit the window. The window will probably break, and then things get worse. It's not guaranteed to happen, but it's pretty likely that it will happen to someone in the next 20 years. If the window had been placed a few feet higher it would be just as good at providing light to the stairwell, without the risk of unexpectedly shoving your body through a broken window.
