Goons are mild compared to

quote:

This woman is a rapist, torturer, or Domestic Abuser. Her abusiveness makes her sexy, just like her male counterpart. Like him, she is based on the Rule of Sexy.

A trait applied to a woman in a song by Devo.

quote:

I'm a Man! I Can't Help It!: Mocked in "Triumph of the Will," in which a rapist uses this idea to excuse his crime.

An alternate interpretation of this song is All Women Are Lustful.

Doctor_thodt posted this thread on 17 Nov 05:

http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=1725837
In a nutshell, he noticed pink flyers all over his school solely reading "Why is this flyer pink?" After he'd had enough, he started taking matters into his own hands, making his own flyers and putting them in every public place imaginable.

Flyer quotes include (but not limited to):
Why Is This Flyer Pink? It Is A Mystery (on womens' bathroom door)
Whoops my fart (on a drive-thru menu)
What Would Flyer Do? (On a church sign)
Ce n'est pas une flyer (Translates to "It is not a flyer", on arts building wall)
A series of numbers on a Do Not Enter sign.

This thread eventually turned Gold, Doctor_thodt was awarded a custom title, and the pink flyers have ultimately become a sort of phenomenon amongst GBS. In addition, this website has been created, possibly by a member of the forums:
http://www.thepinkflyer.com/. In a minor sense, Why is this ___ pink has become a sort of catchphrase amongst GBS as well.

There was a period where a new smiley was $10, if memory serves me right. I'm pretty sure that's basically what led to BYOB buying so drat many smilies. A few goons that posted there were relatively wealthy and didn't think much of spending $100 on ten new smilies.

I'll assume that raising the price was done deliberately to slow down the tide of new smilies because seriously, that poo poo got out of hand.
