My CE was stuck in Texas-limbo for a couple of days as well, but it just came today. So don't give into despair! Not the greatest extras, but it was only $10 more and I wanted to show support for the game to get the 2nd one localized. It's still weird to actually be playing it after following the LP for a year+. I'm liking the English voices so far. I thought Yamada sounded a little too similar to Monobear at first, but I was won over after Yamada's first "EEEEEEEEEEEEEE~!" I think the standout voices so far are Ishimaru and Mondo. Maybe I just like shouting?

I thought mine had vanished off the face of the Earth on the voyage from Texas to Canada, well at least now I can just wait for the package with some peace of mind.

Oh my god, they handled Ishida's dialogue in the best possible way.

From what I've heard of the VA work, it just makes the trailer even more inexplicable. Spoilers and some of the worse voice acting in the game.

I got my LE yesterday, but I'm still waiting to get my hands on a Vita. Yeesh.

Bought this game because of this thread and at first was a little dissapointed before falling in absolute love with the game- however I have found one thing that shows the game to hate me. Any character I go and try to become close with is doomed to die, right after I become close to them. I do not know if this is because of pure luck, since the game killing off those you take interest in would mean a lot of art and voice acting never seen, but it really does drive home the game's message to me. I must now only bond with those I hate...

It's bad luck that characters you tried to get close to happened to die. There are no branching paths in this game that lead to different victims/murderers or anything like that.

The game is now up in the European PlayStation Store.

Goodbye Despair is confirmed, read more about the localization coming this Fall here.

I suppose pre-orders of the original must have blown some estimates out of the water for the sequel to get picked up for rapid release. It also presents something of a headache for the Let's Play mods. Part of me wants to see the let's play finish, part of me wants to see the utter devastation on Tumblr that a mod-enforced early stop to proceedings (or better yet, orenronen telling everyone to buy the game in six month's time to see how it ends) would cause. ![]() [A third part of me also realise that second scenario would result in whoever calls time get a metric tonne of death threats]

I have no idea how it would be a problem. The game has been out for like, two years.Policenaut posted:Goodbye Despair is confirmed, read more about the localization coming this Fall here. I think this will be my third copy of that game. I hope Dangan Ronpa 3 gets announced for a JP/NA release at the same time so I can just get one.

Apparently the producer of Danganronpa flew out from Japan to attend the event, and he's very thankful to NIS for releasing his game in America

That's actually very soon, but if Kyle Hebert being Kazuichi has proven anything they've probably been doing auditions for voice acting for about a month or so now, so they might have started already. Nice to see it's getting release for sure though and I can imagine that when the pre-orders on SDR2 do well we will finally get DR3.

|
|

Maybe we'll get Another Episode or something later down the line, but getting 1 and 2 is very positive.
|
|
|
|
Hell yes!! Sooner than I thought! I figured we'd have to wait a year before a release. As soon as preorders open up, I'm gonna go for it. I didn't read the LP past the first murder, so it'll be a nearly fully blind experience.

If he was already (mistakenly) posting about the game coming out that means they likely already have the voice recording done because otherwise it doesn't make much sense for him to assume the game was coming out when he hasn't done voicework for it yet.

Question about filling our report cards. I just finished Chapter 1's trial. I got the gold star for finishing up Sayaka. If I go back and replay the chapter, can I get Leon and Junko's gold stars? If so, do I need to play through the -entire- chapter, including the trial? Or is it a Persona/S.Link type situation where if I wanna get everything, I need to follow a guide to the T? Also, i just want a list of Hifumi's references. He's already referenced Dragon Ball and someone named Meena.

It's not possible to get Leon, Junko, and Sakaya all in one run of the chapter, you only have three (four?) free time events in Chapter 1.

You can go back and fill out the report cards for people that have died, yes. Doing this is actually necessary in those cases because there aren't enough periods in the chapter for you to get all of their scenes in one playthrough. So far as I understand it, you do need to replay the entire trial, though the game does have certain features in place to make these kinds of things easier (namely the fact that once you beat the game, the game unlocks a mode where you can just hang with your pals as much as you want.)

This game has been pretty cool so far. Although though now I am REALLY stuck and have no idea what to do. What does it mean when a room has an exclamation point over it?

Yeah, those rooms are going to move the plot forward, so do other stuff if you want to first.

Will the exclamation marks go away if I've done the important thing in them? Because I feel like I've done what I can do in those rooms for now.

No they will not, just inspect everything and talk to everyone in those rooms and the plot should move forward on its own.

Is there like a spoiler-free guide somewhere for this game? Because I honestly have no idea what this game wants me to do, and I have inspected everything in those rooms twice.

Some details I think are easy to forget/not know to do, spoilered for obvious reasons: -Talking to Yasuhiro in the gym about a piece of evidence. -Talking to Chihiro about a piece of evidence. -Going into Sayaka's room and checking the trash can. -Inspecting the playback devices in the A/V room once you have the right evidence.

I have inspected the room where the murder took place and found everything I needed in there (I assume, since it wouldn't let me leave before that), got the DVD and viewed it, checked out the trash room and found who the broken crystal ball belongs to and talked to everyone I can. The exclamation points are over the gym, a/v room, cafeteria and sayaka's room.

I remember that last one tripping me up for awhile. You can't do it until you pick up another item elsewhere.

I've done that, and it doesn't seem to do anything. It feels like it's pointing me to the laundry room, but there's nothing there when I check it out.

Did you check out the knife rack in the kitchen? and also the nameplates on Naegi and Maizano's doors? They're easy to overlook.

Oh, that was it. I completely overlooked it. Although it didn't help that the exclamation was over the dining hall, not the kitchen, so I didn't really check there that well. Thanks.

Giving Celeste that lovely French accent was one of the best decisions they made for the dub. It makes that breakdown in the trial oh so satisfying and actually adds another layer to Celeste being a boring Japanese kid trying to live out her romantic fantasies. I think she's voiced by Tara Platt, the accent hides her voice very well surprisingly enough.

Oh man, NISA, I hope you make a limited edition for DR2 as well. I'll be miffed if I have this limited edition DR1 and there's only a regular edition DR2 to stack next to it.
