The soundtrack was better for 2, 1 had the game audio with the execution tracks, and the quality was not the best. 2 on the other hand is crisp, good quality and no direct ripping. 2 came with a lovely pair of sunglasses and a monocoin, and a nicer box. (And a sticker plus artbook but those are less worth mentioning.) I preordered as soon as it went up, because I've also lost control of my life.

The LE for 1 was so bad it kept me from buyiing the LE for 2(the sunglasses look okay, but I have no need for those). DR1 had a joke of an artbook and a joke of a soundtrack. I wouldn't get AE's LE unless you really, really want the tie & eyepatch. The artbook still looks bad, and I doubt the soundtrack is worth an extra $24.

So if you haven't seen the reports coming in from TGS, Danganronpa 3 was officially revealed and is coming to both the PSVita and PS4. Maybe spoilers for DR:AE? From the looks of it and the bits of translation I've seen, I think it's a new school with a new cast. No idea when it takes place in regards to the other games. I also have no clue what the hell's going on with the trial seat apparently being on hydraulics or the figure at the end of the trailer. There might be some more details in a few days' time once TGS opens in full.

I wonder how they will handle Monokuma in this game since Nobuyo Ōyama, his VA, has dementia...I don't think they they change his VA because from what I known it's very rare to do that in Japan. And Monokuma is the mascot of Dangan Ronpa so I don't think they will not use him in this game either so I wonder how they will work with that. Anyway, I can't wait for this, I'm really looking forward how they continue from the end of DR2 and use stuff from DRAE's ending. I have many theories but I will save that for another day.

The video shows a bunch of Shirokumas and Kurokumas in the courtroom. I guess that they are just placeholders so that the real students aren't shown. The reason could be either they don't want to spoil the characters too early, or they haven't designed them yet.

Oh god yes. I admittedly got into the franchise later than most and both of the NA localizations were already out by the time I did, but regardless, here's hoping for a simultaneous translation like Zero Escape is doing so I won't have to wait that extra year or so.

Yeah, I agree that this game will probably end up taking place several years after the end of DR2. (Another Episode spoilers) At least, long enough for the Super Elementary Students to age up to high school age. I'm expecting that some of them will show up here as high school students. Especially Monaka, who seems to be set up to be the new mastermind. Of course, for the people that played Another Episode, that twist seems to be a bit too easy, so I'm expecting some crazy twist involving her. For instance, maybe she gets revealed early in the game and serves as a wild card like Nagito, with the implication that there's another mastermind behind the scenes. It'd be interesting to see how the students deal with someone who's fully given in to despair - they can't exactly kill her if they don't want another school trial.
