Enos Cabell posted:working condition? Untested. Sold as parts or repair. Looks ok in the pics, but a 60+ year old relic is gonna need some tlc regardless. Managed to pull the full schematics/service manual. Large Testicles posted:This belongs in both threads. It rules but in practical use, you hit a pebble and it’s gonna skip Their counter to that was having a huge stylus pressure, destroying the discs in record time! But yeah, it's gonna skip like crazy, the roads in the Caribbean today are worse than the US highways in the 60's. And the vehicle I'm planning on installing it in isn't exactly renowned for it's suspension characteristics (1989 Suzuki Samurai!) Humphreys posted:You need to post that in this thread when you get it Will do! Planning to 3d scan it, strip it down, clean it, and build it back up. Time to order some TPU for some additional dampening.

How many extra sets of apex seals does it come with? Re: the record player: Although marketed for use while driving, particularly on the (then-new) Eisenhower Interstate Highway system, Chrysler eventually recommended using it only when parked.

I don't know, but it claims to produce torque, so we know it can't actually be a rotary

Oh, cool! Closest thing I have is an Oldsmobile removable radio from the '60s. The tuner and amp section can be pulled out of the dash and used as a portable radio with batteries and it's own speaker, or slotted into the dash where it will connect to the car's speaker and power. I don't have any pictures handy, but it's all metal, and works! mobby_6kl posted:Oh wow, that's mazing, thanks! They want WAY too much money for that. Neat, though.

My brain could not parse what I was seeing in this picture. I almost thought that Ford of Australia had gotten some insane, obscure, licensed production deal and they hosed it up or something That car is a sin and I somehow get uncanny valley feelings when I look at it, but I have to respect it

I'm estimating that with the cost to repair that system and the expected longevity being a mercedes, it probably costs $300 a minute to do that.

As the little old nail artist across the street from my work says about his R230 convertible running on the bumpstops, "Mercedes. German. Nice car. Last car I ever buy. Too expensive to fix, too cheap to replace. V12. Drive fast and I fly out the goddamned top. Looks good though, yeah?" There are a worrying amount of cigarette burns in and on that car.
