Michael Kostroff (Maury Levy) is also currently in the HBO show “The Plot Against America”. E: he was also in The Deuce, so I guess David Simon likes him. empty baggie fucked around with this message at 22:32 on Apr 13, 2020 |

Jerusalem posted:I guess technically you can argue that Poot makes it through happy (or at least not miserable) and I'm fairly certain he makes at least once appearance in every season. Poot is the hardest character in the entire series, that guy was cold as ice. Wallace got hosed up after pointing out Brandon and seeing his body left outside his squat all cut up and tortured. But Poot was there as well and it didn't faze him one bit, he is just merrily laughing away when McNulty arrives and gets spooked by the dog. Bodie is told to kill Wallace, Poot tags along despite not having to, Poot grabs the gun and takes a shot as well despite never being told to kill anybody. Poot was closer to Wallace than Bodie was but didn't care, he did it any way. Who did Stringer put in charge of the Pit? Poot. What did Poot do when in charge of the pit? Started making changes and reading the riot act, because Poot knows he is the boss. Poot got locked up and didn't say squat to anybody, then when he got out went straight back on the corner with Bodie. Poot got lucky when Snoop shot and killed the muscle on his corner but then he went straight back out there. Poot was there when Bodie got killed and where was he the next day? Back out on the corner where McNulty found him. And when that poo poo got old? Poot said gently caress y'all and walked away without looking back. He wasn't scared of it, he wasn't traumatized, he wasn't crying about how hard things were, he just got bored and decided to do something else. Poot, the real gangster in the Wire and more important, the real survivor on the streets of Baltimore.

Always forget how much fun some of these characters are. Valchek is such a joy. Also I like how the first time we see Royce, he's pushing a giant plunger to blow up the towers, and the camera makes a point of catching the actual workers squatting nearby who push the actual button.

The sheer happiness Valchek feels just at the idea of what he could do if he had the leverage that Herc has over Mayor Royce is amazing.

I recently rewatched Red Dragon (the 2002 one) and since it takes place mostly in Baltimore, I figured this is what Valchek did in the 80's.

Frankie Faison (Burrell) is in all 3 of the Anthony Hopkins Hannibal Lecter movies as Barney the orderly. He also played a different character in Manhunter, which has Brian Cox in the role.

I mean...he stayed in the game for four more seasons, I think he just left because poo poo was getting way too intense for him by the end. Bodie cries too I think, doesn’t he? He at least is visibly trying not to, anyway.

I think the gangsters lead by Stringer cargo culting business 101 strategy without really getting it is one of the funniest things in show. "Motherfucker did you just take notes on a criminal conspiracy"? Especially since Stringer kind of gets it, but not entirely since he has had at most an associates degree, trying to explain poo poo to guys who dropped out of Middle School. Avon bankrolled a non-profit gym, threw community barbecues, and he and Prop Joe were able to broker a yearly truce so they can fund the yearly cross-town rivalry basketball game. All that definitely went away once Marlo took over.

Not that I don't disbelieve you (I don't want to!) but do you have any sources on that? As for not being a sequel, I'm guessing that just means it won't have any of the same characters but if it is about BPD it must have to do with pretty much all of the stuff The Wire deals with so basically,

I see that more like Trump’s stimulus check. If you take it, you’re going to have to pay that back eventually, with interest (in this case, the interest being murder and drug dealing).
