I want another black and tan coonhound. I had one 15 years ago (found a litter of pups in a trash can while working as a garbageman, kept one and found homes for the rest) and it was the smartest dog I've ever known. Unfortunately, it dug under the fence one day and never came back  I love the breed but they're working dogs so 1200+ is bare minimum price for them.

A couple of my mom's dogges. The one on the left is named Cujo. He weighs in at 168lbs. The one on the right is Riley and he's the most polite dog ever. My mom has three shelties. One has his ears pointy, one has her ears with that bend in them, and Riley has one of each.

Saw something pretty hosed up today. Went to our hunting camp for off-season meeting; guy who runs it has a bunch of hunting dogs. One of them had skin hanging down near to the ground from his front legs to his back, and it was a male dog. He had a little plastic tap hanging out of his gut looked like it came off a ponykeg, just dripping every now and then. Guy said a logging truck backed over him, didn't break anything, didn't kill the dog, they put the tap in to relieve the pressure of all the fluid buildup. I didn't really get a chance to take a picture (at least, without having to explain myself), but the dog was walking around at least somewhat normal. Tough son of a bitch.

I wish like hell that I could spoil him, but he's back in New York and I'm over here on Lewis. He got out and about in the park today, which he loves more than anything except stuffing his face. Went camping again this weekend. Logan almost got in a fight with an unteathered aggressive yellow lab (wtf? seriously, this lab was an rear end in a top hat). The lab charged my girlfriend, who was walking to the restroom in the middle of the night and brought Logan so he could take a leak and hopefully sleep let us sleep late. Logan went into gently caress YOU I'M A GERMAN SHEPHERD mode and the lab backed off. Logan's adult canines are nubs at the moment, and all four baby canines fell out several days ago. Here he is pretending to be a wild animal (you can see one ear, just left of center in the large shadowed area).  And here he is sleeping while sitting up on the drive home.
