Just got back to Sac and am having a garage beer. Goddamn that was a good loving show, and Oakland Coliseum sucks poo poo. The concourse is like 12 feet wide. It had 200 merch stands and only like 2 places to get overpriced chicken tendies. Still spend $45 on a shirt. Got to hear the new Tron song. Great show. I’m flying down to Phoenix at the end of the tour to see them with my kid. Will be interested to see if the setlist is any different by then.

Resisting the insane urge to find video of the new track played live. I can resist. I can be patient. I am calm.

I was pretty lukewarm on the song when it was released, just because I thought the whole "yeahyeahyeahyeahyeahyeah" thing was a bit cheesy (the rest is great), but it sounds SO much better live.

All of the middle stage stuff was incredibly sick, but that version of Came Back Haunted is really stuck in my head.

Thank you to the person upthread who recommended StubHub; after checking it every other day I managed to snag two actually-affordable tickets to the Vancouver gig this Sunday! Super excited to show my bf the live NIN experience. Still steamed that it was such a massive pain to get them but very grateful.

The Oakland show opened with Right Where It Belongs, praying to all the dark lords below Tampa gets the same opener, I adore that song.

I watched video of the Oakland show last night, and let me tell you, this tour looks like a real good time. The Perfect Drug was especially nuts, as was all the B Stage stuff with Boys Noize.

I couldn't really have been happier in how the show went. Also thank you-- I'm literally moving to Toronto the weekend before the show. Means I couldn't grab a great seat but it says the view is 'amazing' which hey, as long as it's not obstructed view. Last one I went to was the With Teeth tour, so I'm jazzed as hell that I'm actually gonna get this one. Thought I wouldn't be able to at all.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Hell yeah more people seeing this tour affordably! Vancouver show absolutely whipped. The Perfect Drug live was blisteringly good, the double-stage setup and visuals were top notch, and I know I'm going to be sore in the morning. And we ended up in row four - when the band walked between stage A and B, they passed only about ten metres in front of us! Rogers Arena was pretty bad for merch (200-person queues, $65 for a t-shirt) but otherwise a great venue for it. Boys Noize was pretty good, but I wasn't blown away by his opening set. It was a good vibe but definitely more "oppressive evil club background music" than anything else. I liked his incorporation into the main NIN set, though, especially Came Back Haunted and As Alive As You Need Me To Be. I think I would have wanted a couple more songs from The Fragile, maybe something from The Slip - no real surprises in the setlist itself. But I had such a good time and so did my boyfriend - his first NIN show! gently caress, I missed seeing Trent and the gang live. Really nothing else like it.

Hearing (a remix of) Vessel on the B stage really made my freaking day. It was kind of odd that they played Somewhat Damaged twice and that was the only song from The Fragile (that I can remember them playing) but they also played some great songs I didn't think they would play like Vessel, Gave Up and The Lovers.

That was such a great show! Wish I had picked up tickets in any row closer to the stage but being in Section 111 in front of the merch stand wasn't the worst location. Getting in and leaving was lightening quick. I was stupid and brought a pocket knife I recieved as a gift from my girlfriend a few years ago with me and had to say goodbye to it at the security entrance. I wasn't even thinking when I had it with me. Boys Noize opening was cool but after a while it started to feel like Cyberpunk 2077 loading music. After the show a sister of a friend of mine left her phone at the arena. Security told them to go to gate 9 and get it from lost and found and that’s where the band were leaving. She got to meet and chat with Josh Freese and they even took a picture with him! AndyElusive fucked around with this message at 15:41 on Aug 11, 2025 |
