I saw about 42 minutes from the premiere preview, but RPDR is slotted for 90 minutes, followed by ten minutes of ???, followed by a normal length RPDR, and then Untucked. What?

The preview is obviously cut down slightly, those extra ten minutes are probably what's missing+commercials+whatever they feel like running because FIRST EPISODE NEW SEASON. I don't know what the gently caress is up with that 90 minute episode, maybe an encore?

I wish they'd had a two hour special instead of splitting it. Most of these queens are middle of the road. Still enjoyable though! Whenever Ru started saying 'G-g-g-Gia!' All I could think of was Veronica Mars' Gia. Meanwhile trying to watch this in Australia is so difficult. Goddamn geoblocks.

I love Vi (Vivacious, Vi Vacious -- they billed her differently in pre-season and actual footage, so whassup with that?) but I am starting to worry that her parts are greater than the sum of what she is. NY queen, club kid, old school, yes yes YES. And I love her turns of phrase. But I think she's gonna be out by episode 3 at this rate, 'cause she is not a machine built for this competition. I like Laganja a lot more after seeing the Untucked because she let her act drop for a minute. Adore has resting bitchface syndrome, which I love because I suffer from it also. Gia -- I wanted to hate her from the episode preview because I thought she was all affect, all apperance. And then the untucked kind of ... confirmed that. No, she was bein' real, that's just Gia. I don't yet know how to feel about that. I don't think I like it, but I guess I appreciate her for not being two-faced about her impressions? They are giving her an awful LOT of confessional time though, so either she has to cool it, or they have to send her home before wearing it out completely. And that 10min ep 2 preview... When Courtney walks out and stands next to everyone, it was just bizarre. I don't think the fishiest queen is the best by default but, like, drat. Talk about your contrasts. I hope she can bring the funny and a big personality. Also, Bianca. I expect Bianca to stay for a good long while, but she should replace Santino on the panel for future seasons. I agree with Michelle Visage's comment about how this season doesn't have chum to sift through for the first 7 episodes like usual. This is competitive as hell, just 'cause I like so many of them. drat. Wonder how my view of prior queens might've changed with a split promo in past seasons? Roughest field ever though, imo. I had no trouble playing episodes once I paused adblock. And once I paused adblock, I was treated to Manila advising me to check my HIV status 5 times in a row throughout the episode. I don't even care if I have to watch ads to support logotv. Just, loving... VARIETY, PEOPLE!

I do NOT like the split premier. I have waited long enough, and I WANT MY QUEENS. For one horrible minute, I thought my DVR cut off the end of the premier. I'm old and can't take that kind of stress! I really hope that Vi sticks around, at least long enough to teach some of these younger queens something about the ball scene. Her walk was amazing! I was really hoping she would show Gia a thing or two about vogueing during untucked, but...nope. She seemed to perform fairly well, but I seriously hope that all her looks don't include a cat suit, or Ornacia. You know that Ru threw her that Madonna song to keep her around. (Just like giving LaTrice Aretha Franklin.) I also didn't like that Adore was throwing a baby-brat fit that Ben didn't give her the Golden Girls box. Adore, honey, you didn't win the challenge, you don't get to pick. Frankly, You should have done a whole lot more with the Honey Boo Boo look, and you didn't. You looked like a Honey Mahogany Duvet, with a bow. Don't do it again. You passed right by that bag of Sketti, and that was a mistake. I don't think that Ben was being shady at all when she gave April the Duck Dynasty box. April came into the work room with a military look, thus proving she can do something with it. I think she matched up the girls as well as she could. Let's talk about Santino. I've never really been a fan, and I figured that Ru was helping keep him off the streets or whatever, but he looks like poo poo. Like he's sick or something. And Michelle clearly isn't a fan either. I am eagerly awaiting Bianca telling him off.

Frankly I'm hoping the next batch has some more stable personalities. Gia, Ganja, and Adore or whoever are all of this weird catchphrase shrieking cut-from-same-cloth model, with some personality disorders thrown in. Paris is Burning is an interesting look at the ball scene, but "I AM LIVING!!!" over and over is not homage, it's pastiche. You're not the ball scene, you're the RPDR scene, and you're chewing the scenery.

So Rupaul released her album Born Naked the other day (Now Available On iTunes *wink*) but before it came out, she released a torrent of it herself, with her talking over the entire album reading people to filth for  and giving little tidbits about the creation of the album. It is hilarious and almost makes me want to to get a copy with the reading.
