lizurcainnon posted:from google translate's attempt at Rider's twitter feed, I suspect she's watching Legend of the Galactic Heroes She was indeed. Their april fools thing for this year has just wrapped up. They had two gimmicks with an idol agency run by Extra Saber and some sort of Youkai Watch capusle gacha parody thing, plus some other accounts not affiliated with either. Some highlights: -The aforementioned Rider spending all day watching Legend of Galactic Heroes and Tweeting about it. -Mordred buying an ero-doujin of her father and freaking out. Also getting a wooden sword as a souvenir for Lancelot along with a note that "It can't shoot beams" -Spartacus working as an Idol scout and constantly getting arrested. -With Shirou out, Saber making a bowl of Yakisoba with Spam and Mayonnaise for lunch. -Shirou and Kotomine are Phoenix Wright and Edgeworth for some reason. -Tohsaka getting arrested for tax evasion And a bunch of other stuff.

The Capsule Servant thing came from the minigame that replaced Hanafuda in HA Vita. https://wakameparadise.wordpress.com/capsule-servant/ That's also where Jeanne's new personality came from. ![]() IIRC Mordred was Apparently Saber used to be a legendary idol. ![]() E: oh right. While Shirou's lawyering it up, Archer defeats crime more directly. ![]() Kyte fucked around with this message at 15:12 on Apr 1, 2015 |

Rewatching F/Z, there's a part where Irisviel is drifting around with a top end sports car. Ilya has an event in F/HA where she seemingly randomly nerds out about cars. The continuity ![]()

New 15 sec CM for the 2nd cour is up:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxDO8LHTswo Dat Gil and Berserker foreshadowing, along with Ilya. Man, people are going to lose it when Doctor Gil is on the case. Also, quick shot of Saber in the wedding dress, so that's still in there. Can't wait until this Saturday... All that HYPE! And of course the comments for the video are filled with people bitching about the adaptation and dropping spoilers. What I've come to expect from the Type Moon fanbase, but worse due to the nature of YouTube comments... GhostStalker fucked around with this message at 05:41 on Apr 2, 2015 |

So, it's been a while since I played Fate, so my memory could be a bit off, but the next sequence of events that happens in the story from where season one ended was that Caster "kills" Kirei and takes over the church, Rin and Archer go after Caster to kill her, he betrays her, and then Rin and Shirou team up again and come up with the idea of asking Ilya and Berserker for help. That could be a good way to end the first episode of the new season.

Episode 13 should end with the graveyard scene. Episode 14 should be on Caster past and evocation. Episode 15 should have the Berseker/Gil battle and the Ilya flashback

IIRC the idea is that Tokiomi didn't want to have his two daughters fighting each other in order to get the most powerful of his spells (which have some bizarre transfer process) and he wasn't aware of just how terrible the Matou magic process is.

Yeah you can only pass the family magic to one child (remember Tohsaka magic works through heirlooms so you can't divide it up without weakening it) and I guess having a second highly jealous child could screw things up. Heck, imagine Shinji only he has enough latent magical ability to be a real threat.

point of return posted:IIRC the idea is that Tokiomi didn't want to have his two daughters fighting each other in order to get the most powerful of his spells (which have some bizarre transfer process) and he wasn't aware of just how terrible the Matou magic process is. Eh, I think the primary issue was Sakura actually just like Tohsaka has a natural affinity for a special kind magic (albeit a different kind) so if she didn't become a Magus, then she'd naturally attract a lot of weirdness and be unable to live like a normal person, eventually the Association would kidnap her and put her in a jar unless she was a proper Magus. Now as for why they couldn't just have her start her own branch family and develop her own Crest from scratch I imagine most Wizards completely can't think outside the box where Crests are concerned. Which kinda reminds me of an earlier question I don't think was answered but, what if Kiritsugu could somehow implant his Crest into Shirou without killing him, how much different would Shirou's magic be? Would he still be able to project swords and still access Unlimited Bladeworks but now with Time Magic to go with it or would it completely alter his make up?

Irony Be My Shield posted:Yeah you can only pass the family magic to one child (remember Tohsaka magic works through heirlooms so you can't divide it up without weakening it) and I guess having a second highly jealous child could screw things up. Heck, imagine Shinji only he has enough latent magical ability to be a real threat. Heirlooms have nothing to do with it. The heir is designated by who the head chooses to pass the family's Magic Crest to - and each family only has one(there's one exception, like there is to most stuff in the Type Moon universe). The Crest both allows quick-casting of all the spells ingrained in it and will passively attempt to keep its owner alive if I recall correctly(pretty sure it was the Crest healing Rin enough that she didn't die of blood loss near the end of Fate route). More importantly, that designation as heir comes with Clocktower protections. In general family heirs are considered off-limits to other mages outside formal duels or whatever, as the Association takes a dim view on that sort of thing and has Enforcers to hunt down those who violate it. A child without that protection but a high number of high quality circuits, as well as a nigh-unique Origin? The Clocktower couldn't give a poo poo if something happened to them, and you can almost guarantee that something would. In general mage families with multiple children either use them for cementing political alliances or just let them do whatever, leaving it up to their personal effort as to whether they accomplish anything within the Association or not. And if they're powerful or unique? They better learn to protect themselves drat fast, or they'll likely be kidnapped by some extremely unethical and/or rogue magus for experiments. And keep in mind that multiple children are not exactly common to begin with. So from Tokiomi's perspective, it was a way to both give Sakura that protection and importance. Kariya's ranting about how horrible the training was didn't register for a number of reasons. For one, because ALL magus training is extremely hard, regardless of the family. Each family is also HIGHLY SECRETIVE as to their training techniques, so there's no way he could have known what Matou training entailed. So when he's told by someone he viewed as a slacker who'd abandoned his family responsibilities for years that Sakura was being put through hard training, he understandably viewed it as whining - possibly with hint of jealousy, if he was aware of Kariya's feelings towards Aoi. This is not to say that Matou training isn't horrific even by magus standards, because it is, but rather that Tokiomi would not have any reason to think that just because Kariya was saying it was hard. Honestly, I'm decently sure that a decent number of Association families would be horrified/disturbed/disgusted at Matou's methods, but again, it's a SECRET. And yeah, family disputes do happen too, so that admittedly factored in as well. For a prime example of that, look at the Aozakis. Lord Koth fucked around with this message at 03:20 on Apr 3, 2015 |

If Kariya had been less concerned about trying to get his self-insert fantasy to work and more concerned with actually helping Sakura he would've tried to work with Tokiomi instead of getting himself killed like a chump. And then he might've succeeded. Ergo Kariya couldn't do it, because to be Kariya is to be a loser. ![]()

Imagine that but after getting internally consumed by dickworms for a year beforehand.
