I've never even heard of American Dreamz and I kind of can't believe it exists from this episode.

This was a good ep, but after hearing the gang lament the lack of William Hung I'm definitely going to submit God Bless America for the next listener request month so they can see how thankful they should be that the movie didn't have strong opinions on that particular piece of pop-culture effluent. Also I would watch their version of the movie where instead of terrorists it's gleep-glop aliens.

I thought the film version of About a Boy was pretty alright.

The creepy blinking muppet "Chip" actually debuted in 1989, when Jim Henson was alive, and was dormant until this new show.

Personally, I'd be infinitely more interested in "Snowden" if it starred Swedish Chef

This may be the most tangent-y episode in a long time. I think in the middle half hour they talk about the movie for maybe five minutes. Not that I'm complaining, the tangents are pretty great this week. I love that half of their impressions are just impressions of comedy show versions of people. See: Simpsons HW Bush, Norm's Burt Reynolds, everyone's Emperor Reagan

Turns out American Dreamz holds another dubious honor: being one of those outlier Ebert reviews, getting a whopping 3 stars from him.

I really like the episodes where the gang can poke fun at the ridiculous realities in the film - rather than the actors, characters or plot. The whole preposterousness of The Skulls' initiations and gifts is a real "how would this even work in reality?" riff.
