Power Windows posted:Bowie is the king of bad covers: I dunno, I think his cover of Pixies' "Cactus" from Heathen is pretty good. His cover of Modern Lovers' "Pablo Picasso" from Reality on the other hand Overall, though, you're right. He was brilliant but just not much good at doing covers for whatever reason.

I always liked Bowies cover of hard to be a saint in the city. And white light white heat.

Sometimes bands I like make terrible covers and that makes me sad. It especially pains me when Japanese bands who can't properly pronounce English try covers like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHduXHFmWh8 This is one of my favorite bands, but this song does not lend itself well to their genre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXIgB97upWI&t=516s This band also covered Lithium, but luckily the full version of that isn't on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3GDqIdLTKc I have a bunch more in my collection, but since none of it's on YouTube I'll spare your ears.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0i62GnQoo0 Sublime - Smoke Two Joints Why was this ever more popular than the original song? It's a song about smoking joints but they have a sample of a bong being ripped. gently caress sublime
