yeah i think one of the game's faults is that successful builds really wind up being pretty samey. Heavy on whatever combats sanity loss, a dump stat that gets compensated for later, and probably psychic because of the way the psychic resource works.

Don't worry guys. I have completely recreated the game in a month and a half and it's now done and ready to be played. AI? Full general artificial intelligence (for every character). Gameplay? Uncountably infinite strategies. Graphics? Fully immersive for all senses which humans and animals possess. Realtalk, though, I made a free game based somewhat on That Which Sleeps and put it on the internet. It lacks advanced features such as sound, save/load and a font which isn't "default Arial" but it's playable and you can muck around with politics, plagues and climate change. Game is pretty fun, I like how it will let you go into a power debt instead of just not letting you do a thing. Wish it had saving and loading, but I can see myself playing more of it when I have some time to kill.

i'm finding the governments of various nations difficult to understand like, i started out by choosing a city state on the north side of the world and enthralled the captain of the guard, the priest, and the physician. then i killed the countess by having her own shadow eat her. when elections came up, the candidates to replace her did not include my enthralled lords, and i apparently could not influence them to vote in any real way. i later took the place over by just mashing end turn a lot and enthralling the new countess, but the entire situation was very confusing.

This is a good game. Though I can't figure out how to switch between thralls. I had a thrall that was doing nicely but after gobbling up a few smaller settlements the nearest society was a solid "maybe" on whether I could take it. So I enthralled someone there and made them argue for extreme pacifism and to defund their military as much as possible. Only I then couldn't switch back to my old thrall. So I just made them a dark tower trying to take over the world . . . it didn't work out. What I would have liked to have done is switch back to my powerful, militarily aggressive thrall and have him invade.
